Flew this kite once on a large sand dune near the ocean with lots of space and low wind turbulence in 7-10 mph winds. The kite was very stable and lots of fun to fly. Like other reviews have stated, the kite does have a strong pull on it and I recommend getting a string wheel with a crank handle as I would not have easily been able to bring the kite in by hand and would definitely need gloves as it pulled that hard. Even using the crank wheel was difficult as I bought a cheaper one and was worried the handle would break off. I was very happy with the quality of the kite and the price was very good. Would definitely recommend.

Attached a 3 foot leader to the rigging and hoisted it up attached to a 9ft lifting kite. It flew all day on the beach and absolutly was the coolest looking thing. I have the green one and it looked nice against a blue sky. Day two I accidently got some sand in the kite and it ended up in the bottom of a few tail sections. This sand acted as a wieghts and madce it impossible to fly, tossing and turning and getting tangled up in the rigging. I had to crash it into the the ocean, and decided to clean it out another day and try again. I rate it 5 stars because it flew so good and looked so cool. Probably not a good beginer kite. It comes with a nice storage bag

Our family loves kites and I always like to get new ones to add some variation when we go out to fly. This octopus kite is really big and looks really cool. I especially love the eyes on the main body and the way the tentacles undulate individually. The kids love it and everyone else who has seen it has been equally impressed. It does come with a kite reel of sorts but I thought it was going to be the style with a crank handle to wind the kite up, it is not. The main line has to be tied to the kite lines but they do include a manual that shows how to tie it on. This is a very large kite so in my opinion it's a lot easier to fold up if you have two people, especially if it's very windy out. The black color is very distinct against the sky but I think it would look better if it had a little more variation in it to break up all the black. Overall this is a really neat kite and it's a big hit with the kids so it's a winner in my book.
