These literally cannot physically hold in a battery because they do not stay closed, you would have to glue the strap to the buckle in order to do that, and I wouldn't trust that. They come unassembled with the strap not attached to the buckle, I should have known then they wouldn't work.

The snap buckle is easy to adjust and holds tight. Does not require tools other than fingers to unbuckle. The weave-together straps with the two piece buckle hold well, but are a real pain to open. especially in the dark.
