I can't say how well these will work for steel, or even aluminum, because all I cut with my 3018 mill is plastics (acrylic, ABS). For those, these work great.

My Sisonas - Oh they make my motor run. This is my third end mill order from Sisona and I can confirm they deliver a quality product. My first, a 1/4" roughing end mill with a TiN coating in mild steel and and some 316 (?) stainless. Likewise, a quarter inch chamfer mill has worked well on both metals. These little 1/8" have only been tested in a chunk of prop shaft spinning at 1100 rpm. The prop shaft is pretty hard, depth of cut about .033". Makes a nice cut, nice chips, decent finish. These are great starter bits for 3/16" key ways.5 Stars for The Sisona 5PCS 1/8" Carbide Ball Nose end Mill Bits Set

Sometimes when you only need to cut not very deep and using a long bit can be susceptible breaking easer. The shorter bits defiantly have their place. This one fulfills that issue. You can be a little more aggressive as you are cutting if you keep lubricant on the bit and the flutes cleaned out. Great bit.

The 5PCS 1/8" Carbide Ball Nose End Mill Bits Set has quickly become indispensable in my workshop. As a woodworker, I often work with walnut and other hardwoods, and these bits have consistently delivered precise and clean cuts. The 1/8" shank diameter fits perfectly in my rotary tool, and the TISIN coating not only enhances durability but also reduces friction, allowing for smoother operation and longer tool life. I've used them for various projects, from crafting intricate details to carving out precise contours, and they have performed admirably in both roughing and finishing tasks. The 2-flute design effectively evacuates chips, maintaining excellent surface finishes even on tougher materials like alloy and hardened steels. Whether I'm shaping furniture pieces or creating custom woodworking projects, these end mill bits provide the accuracy and reliability I need. They're a must-have for any woodworker or metalworker looking to achieve professional results.

I rarely appreciably dull end mills of either tool steel or tungsten carbide, mainly machining as I do wood, plastics, or aluminum. Fixture movement causing the tool to snap does them in long before they lose sharpness in my experience. So finding good end mills at a reasonable price suits me just fine. And this is an excellent end mill. Bear in mind that I have not used it on steel, but being carbide I would think it would be suitable. My jig borer is smaller than an industrial vertical milling machine and I have very limited working height. My collet only accepts 1/2” diameter end mills. My work around is to use inexpensive collet adapters, which are available in both English and Metric sizes. These work extremely well as long as they do not get lost.

I have used it in wood, plastic and aluminum. It cuts very cleanly, and so far has not shown signs of dulling. Excellent bit, recommended.

We got the 1/8" bits for use with my husband's CNC. He works primarily with wood, and the bits have worked fine. They have been used frequently with no breakage or other problems. I would recommend this product.
