About this item

  • Milled teeth are 50 PERCENT SHARPER than competitors stamped or crush ground blades
  • Precision Induction hardening throughout the blade vs competitors flame hardening
  • Tooth edge is 20 PERCENT harder than any high carbon steel resulting in extended sharp time
  • More ductile steel than any high carbon steel leads to extended flex life and a cooler running blade

Timber Wolf's use of premium Swedish steels, proprietary induction hardening methods and exclusive tooth milling processes has created some of the finest woodworking blades in the world. Milling the teeth of the blades into a piece of strip steel produces a finished, razor sharp edge without ever having to stamp or grind the teeth. Induction hardening allows for different but more precise hardness throughout the blade. These unique manufacturing techniques along with the use of Swedish Silicon steel and the highest quality alloys set these blades apart from all other wood blades. This VPC (Variable Positive Claw) blade is designed for straight-line resawing in small to large boards, kiln and air dry, up to 12 inches wide. The variable pitch, positive claw, tooth design reduces resonance throughout the blade by using different size teeth, which produces a very clean finish almost polishing the wood as it cuts.

After cutting a few 6 inch thick logs the blade loses it's sharpness.

Remember when setting this up that it is LOW TENSION. if it isn't tracking straight for you, double check the guide for tensioning the blade correctly.Works perfect with my Grizzly saw with a lift block in it. Cuts very quick and leaves a pretty nice edge considering it isn't a fine cutting saw. I was able to re-saw 8" x ¾" hardwoods like hard maple, and finish them to clean ¼" for a few fretboards. Those are some tough cuts for a blade I lost my last TW blade to cutting Purple Heart - after the first few inches the blade gunked up and slowed down and eventually burned. But that was a nasty piece of wood, full of oil and tension that kept gripping the blade. I recommend keep your old blade to cut oily woods (and keep the blade clean while cutting) and you'll keep the life of this new one for a long time!

I needed a blade for my bandsaw that would cut easily through thick pieces of hardwoods (maple, ebony, rosewood). The blade I had was more for thinner pieces, and could cut through thicker pieces, but it took a long time, and heated the wood and the blade. This looked like it was just what I needed, and it turns out it was! This cuts through thick maple (4" and more) with little effort. The blade is wide and sturdy for decently smooth cuts for a large-tooth blade. It's a game changer, and I love it! Looking for a new blade that cuts like a hot knife through butter? This is the one!

This is a great resaw blade. It cut through a 6" x 3' board without any problems. The blade drift was minimal, and I think that was due to me not the blade. The blade is very sturdy and sharp, and is perfect for resawing wide pieces of lumber. I highly recommend this blade for resawing and will definitely purchase it again. However, I don't expect that will be in the near future.

The blade is very sharp right out of the box and cuts really well. Time will tell how it holds up. I'm not going de-tension and re-tension my blade every time I use my bandsaw as suggested in the instructions. That would be just too time consuming and I've never heard of that or read about doing that. I'll update this review as needed....

Bought two of these for my hobby woodworking, exclusively for re-sawing. First one lasted two years; the second lasted two weeks. Didn’t try to return because I must have over tightened it. That’s my warning— Do not overtighten.
