I am testing this Y-Shaped strainer in-line before a cold water tap which requires frequent rebuilding as a result of sand particles in our well water.So if this test is successful as I expect it will be, I will be purchasing many more of these to place in-line before all indoor water controls.The plus of this strainer is that it catches most unwanted particles before reaching critical controller parts and can be cleaned out on occasion as required.
