If you need to save your time and sanity, just know that the product packaging is complete garbage and expect all of the washers to be mixed together. You'll be forced into picking through them all to find what you need. The washers do, however, work exactly as they should. They hold onto rivets perfectly, just be ready for a little trial and error to double check the sizing before riveting anything. I can't confirm or deny whether the black coating is just surface or if it goes through, but for my usage, you'll never see it anyway and the rivets didn't scratch the washers. That being said, I am honestly surprised the package was even sealed at all. A small piece of tape on both sides kept the plastic casing (mostly) shut. There's no real way of knowing if all of the washers are actually here without doing some seriously tedious work that isn't worth the $10 that the washers cost.
