I'm a locksmith by trade and snap clips are very common... so I have some solid professional experience. I bought these to keep on the bench for when I lose a ring during disassembly of a lock. I definitely will not be buying these again, as I do not think they are made of spring steel. The process of installing a clip involves opening it up to slip it over whatever you're working on.. it should then spring back to it's original shape and diameter. Most clips will tolerate this for a few times but these deform on the very first installation, making them all but useless. To make them work you have to seat them and then use pliers to crimp them tight again.. Do yourself a favor and go over to Grainger or MSC and buy some descent c-clips because these are garbage

Nice assortment of SS external snap rings. My OCD is happy to see the label on the case matches the order of rings in the case, right down to the different order of the top row. The case has fixed compartments for the bottom two rows and variable ones for the top. One divider was left out such that the M28 would fit. Each snap ring is a different thicknesss as one would expect. M4-M5 are 0.40mm, M6-M7 are 0.60mm, M8 is 0.80mm, M10-M22 are 1.0mm, and M24-M28 are 1.20mm. There was some deviation always thinnner, but not by more than 0.02mm. A good enough case but do not tip it over and the piece wil visit their neighbors, even though they put in a piece of sponge like material on top.

I don't have a use for c-clips at the moment, but too many times I've been paranoid while removing a retaining clip because if it goes flying somewhere, I'm screwed. Now I won't ever have that problem again. This set has every size I could ever need, the clips appear to be well made, I didn't notice any burrs or bends. Gauge wise they feel thicker than what I'm used to for c-clips, but I didn't have anything to reference and I don't think that impacts their ability to do their job anyway.This is the type of thing I may never use, but for $10 it's an easy peace of mind offering.
