Easy 4 step process to install
In most cases the previous touch sensor has permanent wire nuts, cut the wires to remove them and strip back to the raw copper wire (If they are removable wire nuts twist counter clockwise to remove, and the new orange wire nuts will turn clockwise for new wire connections) on both the wires from the plug and the wires from the lamp. (black and white on instructions).
1. Refer to wiring diagram while connecting each wire. If there is an existing touch wire in some cases it is easier to cut and strip the wire from the lamp so you can wire nut to join (Green) touch wire from sensor box. Use your own judgement you can always remove the bolt from lamp base and connect the yellow wire metal circle to the touch surface as intended. (see options 1 and 2 on instructions)
2. Connecting (WHITE) Using a wire nut connect WHITE wire from sensor box to one wire from the lamp and one wire from the plug (3 wire connection 1 lamp, 1 plug, and 1 white).
3. Connecting (RED) Using a wire nut connect RED wire from sensor box to the only remaining wire from lamp.
4. Connecting (BLACK) Using a wire nut connect the BLACK wire from sensor box to the only remaining wire from power plug.

Great replacement for the touch sensor end-table lamps I have. Fixed them perfectly. You MUST follow the wiring instructions which are provided, though. The first one I installed I matched the wire colors thinking it would be fine. It blew one of the resistors and ruined the sensor. This was my fault not the manufacture's. Their instructions are clear.

I used this to replace a halogen bulb in a desk lamp and install LED bulb. I found out the bulb is important, while some dimmable LED bulbs would work on only low/high/off (no medium) I thought it was the dimmer, changed to a different bulb and it works like a charm.

I was able to replace an old sensor in our lamp. Frankly, I didn't know that you could replace it, but I found this one on Amazon. The instructions were clear and I had no trouble installing the sensor. The only knock against the sensor (and this was a problem with all the sensors that I found online) was that it was rated for 150 watts and the old one was 200 watts. This was important, because the lamp has 3 bulbs in it. I know that I can use LED bulbs in it, but when it is in the middle intensity, the bulbs flicker slightly. All in all, I'm happy with this sensor. If anyone does get one, be sure to follow the installation instructions.

I have never done anything with wires before, I followed instructions exactly and my lamp works, WOW. Than you so much for the easy instructions, , most of the time I receive items with no instructions, this can be so frustrating. Also, this is how we keep our landfills in better condition. I recommend this item to whoever wants to restore a favorite lamp.

My purchase and installation was for a replacement on a nightstand dimmer unit and was really easy based on the wiring diagrams provided. Just to add, I and not a fan of electrical jobs but will do them.In my case, there were two sensor wires, one on each side of the nightstand, and I simply spliced them to the green wire with wire nuts.NOTE: was not a fan of the wire nuts provided and did not appear to hold firmly when I did a wire tug to confirm connectivity. I chose to swap out the wire nuts for different wire nuts.Since I had a solid black two-wire cord (versus white and black wires) that powered the light, I checked the Internet what was neutral (ribbed and large prong side) and hot (smooth side) and proceeded to make the remaining wire connections, tested and good to go.My prior control unit had screw holes that were used to attach the unit to the bottom of the nightstand. For this unit, I used a small piece of pipe hanger strap and two wood screws to secure.Admittedly, I was a bit concerned about a review where the bottom of the unit was melted. Will continue to use and test.UPDATE:I have installed a 20w dimmable LED and works and dims as expected similar to the halogen bulb without the heat.
