This stuff is stretchy, so can be formed a little around bends and such.I took care to stretch as little as possible and work from middle to edges to prevent air bubbles. With some care in places where you haven't pressed it on, it can be pulled back up to let those bubbles out.On initial application, it looked a little cloudy and bumpy, especially where I had to work to get bubbles out, but if it hasn't been deformed too much, a couple of days and it evens out and looks great.

Does not grip binding well. After time it lifts. Would not buy again.

We do stained glass. Our glass patterns need to be covered in a durable, clear and easily cut product. Periodically we use smaller patterns and this product is superior for this application. Glad to have found it.

I was worried about adhesion and thickness/durability based on other reviews but this stuff is amazing. I have some very beat up paperbacks with horribly creased spines and this adhered without any difficulty. Other reviews complained about fingerprints if you touch the tape. Yes, touching the sticky side does leave fingerprints but I was unable to see the fingerprints at all once the tape was applied to the books. If you have a book you think might not hide the fingerprints you could always cut the tape a little long so you could hold it by the edges, apply it to the book, and then trim with scissors or a razor blade. The thickness is great and really makes the book spine feel secured.

The material is good, at least it seems ok. But the “Made in USA” label that is used to seal the roll from unwinding uses a permanent adhesive that leaves a sticky residue on the tape. It doesn’t rub off. Paint thinner removed most of it. For a company that sells book related products, it should know better.

Bought this to repair several older books with artwork and spine information I still cherished. This has worked well to both preserve and protect, while almost invisible at a distance(Can you even see the lines in my photos?). There is a satin finish to the tape that will be visible, but most of the books I am covering already have a satin UV type coating. Only trick to applying is to smooth out bubbles before completely wrapping a spine. Great stuff. Save your books!
