These are big bulbs that are made to hold water for a week or two. Opening on top to fill water and the design is perfect

Love these globes….they hold a lot of water, are durable, and easy to use. They are pretty large but you can use them with a smaller plant. Just know they are not small. I recommend.

I placed these in my planters a while ago, and they appear to be working great! The plants seem as healthy as they do with other watering globes I have previously used, and the water level does go down into the soil over time. These have the additional benefit over my old globes in that they are top-filling, and much easier to maintain. There is even a little indent at the top, so if I miss the pouring hole the water will still be funneled inside the globe. I think this will also allow them to be much more easily cleaned, as I can access the inside more easily. They also have a much shorter base, and will rest right in the plant pot, rather than sitting on the end of a long stem, such as many similar glass products. This makes them much easier to balance in smaller or lighter pots, and I don't have to worry about them getting knocked over.The plastic looks clean and unscuffed, and the terracotta bases all arrived intact.

I like that this watering globe lasts a couple of weeks before it needs to be filled up again thereby allowing me to leave the house without worrying about me plants dying. They also allow me to save time watering the plants. Fill them up every couple of weeks and your done. They work and look great with the larger plants but it overwhelms the smaller plants. However if you are only going to use these while away from home it wouldn't matter much how they look in the pot. I'll definitely use these on the larger plants while out of town to but probably won't use them on a day to day basis. I recommend them to anyone who travels a lot. Be carful when removing and reinserting the watering stake as the rubber seal between the globe and the stake needs to be in the correct position, otherwise the water will drip out quickly.

I just went on a trip for 5 days and let these keep my plants watered. The listing says they hold enough water for about two weeks and that proved true, as they still had a little over half the amount left when I returned. I did have to mess with one of them because the rubber gasket that sits between the plastic bulb and the clay cone had dislodged during shipping. But I got it back together and it worked like it should. I do wish it were more egg-shaped because the perfectly round design of this means you have to push the foliage out of the way quite a bit, even in a medium sized pot. And you definitely couldn’t use it in a small pot. So it’s functional, but limited. At $23, this set of three is overpriced. I’d say It’s worth more in the $10 range.
