Although this wasn't exactly the tape I was expecting, it turned out to work out just as good as the one I was expecting. I needed a low tack type debb and this is exactly what it was.

Good tape for my watercolor paper, easy to peel off on cotton paper. I noticed it sometimes tears a bit on cellulose paper. Low tack.

Used this in my sketchbook and it ripped my art when I pulled it up. Tried a second time by not pressing it too hard to the paper and it still ripped. Disappointed.

I don’t know if I just received some faulty tape but I have used it three times for different uses with watercolor paper and watercolor painting and each time it has irreparably damaged my work. I can’t tell you the disappointment of getting a piece where you’re happy with its progress and then take off your artists tape and have the whole piece gone and be unable to fix it. It’s so frustrating and I’m a big sensitive baby about my work and I cried the first time. Luckily the other two times I was wary so I didn’t use it on work I was very invested in. Other reviews seem to be happy with it so maybe I just don’t get along well with this type. I’m so bummed I now have three full rolls I won’t use on my work so I guess the kids can play with it. I’ve never had this problem before so I’ll be exploring other options.

I'm a new artist and this tape has really helped me. It's pretty easy to form it around odd shapes in your painting. I try to remove it before the paint is dry. Sticky and tears easily

This tape is not quite as low tack as I had hoped. But it is economical. So if I am using it on cardstock or paper, as opposed to something shiny like vinyl or plastic, I stick it to my pants or shirt first. This reduces the tackiness. It still does the job, but it doesn't mark my project. If I could give it 3½ stars, I would have, but it just isn't quite a 4 since I've had to recut some of my dies because ot tearing.

UPDATE 10/15/23:I've decided to give it another star, because I've been using it alot for concertina books. It's very thin and acid free (!), so it's perfect for connecting sheets of paper on both sides of the seam. The tape's thinness allows for nice sharp folds.So yup, upgrade to 4 stars now, rather the the original 3 stars I'd given before. Now if it wouldn't rip a sheer surface layer off my cotton watercolor paper (160lbs/300gsm), I'd be buying stock. :)----------Original Review:I don't think this is artist quality masking tape -- it's way stickier than blue painter's tape and I think it will likely tear paper to shreds, so I've been afraid to use it as artist's tape. I am using it a lot, though, for various things so it's not going to waste. I am just reluctant to ruin my artwork, but a good bargain as regular masking tape.
