Two of the mutes did not fit between the strings on my cello. The only mute I was very interested in did not come in the pack, which is a huge disappointment. Do not purchase this product, buy a standard rubber mute from Shar music or another vendor.

They look cute but do not work like an actual mute. They are made of hard plastic.

We do like the Dual one, the one that fits our viola. The other 2 we received, the viol shape and the disc shape, do not fit on our viola at all

The mutes are nice but it says 3 pack and I only received 2.

All of the Viowess (Wiessmeyer) mutes are outstanding. The individual mutes typically sell for $16 (but you can customize the colors when you order them individually), so $10 for a grab-bag of three different mutes is a fantastic deal. All the mutes help the instrument retain a beautiful sound when muted, but each has a different purpose. Lots of professionals now use these mutes, but they're so inexpensive there's no reason that everyone shouldn't get them.My personal favorite is the Square. It can either be pushed against the bridge or clipped over the bridge, similar to the Alpine Shield mute (previously known as the Menuhin Shield) -- a super-convenient form factor. Viowiess says it's, "Good for studio or performing, superior tone quality for pianissimo, can also be placed against the back of bridge for mezzo-piano".The Disc is shaped like a Tourte two-hole style mute; Viowess says it's "Best for orchestral performance, high acoustic fidelity with pianissimo".The Viol is shaped like a classic Tourte one-hole; Viowess says it's "Best for studio work, recording, electric/acoustic instruments, low dampening, can be mounted on one string or between two, preserves natural tone and sound".The Dual is a bar-style mute (like a mini practice mute); Viowess says it's for "Gigging, orchestral and solo performing, bridge mount for pianissimo or slide against the back of bridge for mezzo-piano".Viowess also sells the Catrpilr, their practice mute, but that isn't one of the possibilities in this grab-bag.

Look cooler than black rubber ones, sound decent, really solid pricing at 3 for 10$
