Getting on an age (I'm almost 70), getting those Christmas decoration boxes back in the attic was getting... challenging. I've been getting by with a manual block and tackle, but this year it just got to be too much trying to hold the weight while swinging the load in from the trap door. This electric hoist was the perfect solution; it's a little slower, and it's a little heavy itself, but it certainly makes it super easy to get the storage containers / Christmas tree bag / whatever up there with little drama. As an added bonus, although it's heavy, it is portable, so I can relocate it down to the workshop to unload heavy items from my pickup when needed. Win-win! I was concerned about quality and performance at this price point but it seems to be very capable, and the multiple control choices are a great convenience.

Easy to use and does exactly what i needed it for. I used it to help move a 660lb safe into a basement and a 400 gallon water tank that was 209lbs. Worked flawless.

I used to raise submersible well pump so that I could replace well seal and pump controller. Product worked good for this purpose and I’m sure I’ll have other uses for it. The only reason I didn’t give 4 stars it’s loud as a kitchen blender.

Well made, they clearly wanted a product that was well made to last something you don't see anymore. I would expect to pay more for this product.

I had planned to use this lift to lift a 350 pound 5th wheel hitch out of my truck bed. Currently using a manual hand pulley. After unpacking the unit it was obvious this was a lower tier Chinese product. The poor packaging, the poor finish on the product and the English translation in the owners manual was some of the poorest I have seen and I should add my garage is filled with Chinese made tools. However, this was not the show stopper for me and only adding this to set expectations for other shoppers. The unit I received appeared to have been repackaged. That or the styrofoam packing had been beat up during shipping. After reading the owners manual (twice I will add) I plugged it in on my bench and briefly tested the 3 way feature. The switch on the unit worked. The plug in cable switch worked. The remote control did not work. BTW, as other reviews noted this system does not come with a remote battery. Spend $130 and it doesn’t come with a $5 battery???? Hey, It was a first for me. Also, it uses a non standard battery so be prepared to make a trip to a store that carries this size.My overall experience with the unit was poor. The system is much loader than an 10K Warn winch for sure. After going to the effort of getting the odd battery and then having the remote not work was the final straw. BTW no where in the owners manual does it even tell you what size battery you need. Take the remote to batteries plus and they can help.Additional thoughts. They sell 2way systems for $15 less than this one and other 3 way systems are $15more. I will spend the extra $15 and buy a more recognizable brand name.

This is definitely an electric hoist. There's no doubt about it. It lifts. It pulls. It's surprisingly cheap. So far I've used it to hoist a load of around 350 lbs. The difficulty people are having with kinking cable is almost certainly because they're retracting it unloaded. Don't do that. Always put load on it when retracting if you want it to spool cleanly. The cable must be pulled taut. Unlike a winch, you can't easily see how well it's spooling because it's all happening inside the casing. But it is possible to view it through certain angles: a window in the back or a bit from the underside, but the core issue is that you may not be at those angles while working. The unit is definitely loud, as others said. It also definitely doesn't stop on a dime when you release the button, as others have said. And the safety switch that prevents you from retracting too far into the unit is also poorly designed: the circular plate easily misses that limit switch button. Also, if you get into a situation where it's tensioning at an angle, the cable can drag against the relatively sharp edges of the steel window where it exits the unit. This particularly made me uncomfortable. I would have preferred the cable exited the unit through a round bar slot (as you would see on a DC winch) to avoid the risk of abrasion of the cable when pulling at an angle, which could become a very serious safety issue. I have no idea if the load rating is real. I think 500 kg/1100 lbs probably just refers to the safe limit of typical steel cable of that size. I don't plan to get anywhere close to that. All in all, I'm happy with it. It's probably not an intrinsically safe device but it can be used safely if you're pay attention to its limits.
