One of the more cold hardy varieties, this attractive bush has glossy, leathery dark green foliage and an abundance of magnificently fragrant large white blooms. Has a more upright habit and more tolerant of direct sun light than other gardenias, with flower buds that resist late spring frosts without damage. Frostproof makes a wonderful hedge or foundation planting. Place close to outdoor living areas or entryways to enjoy the fragrance. Plant in mass to screen walls and fences or include with other fragrant bloomers in a container planting!

Delivered in perfect condition. Well packaged. Planted according to reviews (rootball 2 inches top exposed, likes dry feet). So far (3months later) still healthy and green. Can’t wait to see it bloom.

The plant was packed very nicely. It is very full with greenery. No blooms as of yet. As to the frost proof aspect, time will tell.

I rarely buy plants on Amazon but I couldn’t find this variety elsewhere. I’m in zone 7 but leaning toward 6, and I wasn’t sure how this would grow. The plant arrived healthy, but in year 1 it did not bloom. Now 18 months after being put into the ground, it is covered in beautiful, fragrant blooms.

Plant came quickly and was lovely right out of the box. There were no blooms and it's been a month and still nothing. That being said, for the price it's a beautiful plant and very healthy.

I have lots of gardenia plants at home. But this one I bought has been giving me problems. Within a week after receiving the plant, I see drastic change. No matter whatever I do, it's drying. Leaves are turning brown and yellow. The amount of water Iam giving is perfect. Still no use. I want to return it. How should I do it ?

Product arrived in great shape…only complaint is that the soil it arrived in was VERY alkaline and that surprised me knowing that Gardinias love acidic soil. I repotted and adjusted accordingly. Wonder why that wasn’t managed at nursery ?

Gardenias are my Wife’s favorite, I bought this as an anniversary gift for her. However they are extremely hard to grow in the Pacific NW. I thought I’d take a chance on this “Frostproof” Gardenia. My plant was healthy and well packaged, and has been outside in its original shipping pot for two months now. Despite 8” of snow and nighttime temps in the teens, it’s still holding up well with no sign of any problems. It’s helpful to read up on this type of Gardenia though, since it doesn’t particularly like “wet feet”. We intend to plant it in the Spring, in a well drained area or a pot, so I can’t comment on how it smells yet, but so far so good! I’m pleased with the purchase and am looking forward to the time this plant will bud and bloom.

I was honestly expecting the plant to be a couple of pieces of sticks, but it is sooo close to the picture in the description. Posting pictures of the plant on day2 of opening. It already had a couple of fragrant flowers and about 6/7 buds ready to bloom. The pictures are from today afternoon and i am posting the review this evening with a couple more flowers already blooming.Very very pleased with this purchase. The packaging it came in was compact and well done.I would recommend putting the plant out in morning sunlight when you get it. And make sure the soil is moist.Update: I have already posted day2 pictures, posting day3 today.Update: It has been a few months now. The plant is thriving and still blooming! Pictures attached.
