This product did not come with directions but it was mostly common sense. We have had a brown bear in our are for awhile, we kinda live in a rural area. The bear got into our garbage quite a few times and it was horrible having to pick up garbage all over the yard everyday. We tried straps but that didn't work. These work in a way that the bear can't move it around and pry it open like it did with the pulley and straps, it's sealed shut. So he ended up moving along! I just wish some instructions had been inside just to save time.
