I'm using these in a few old film cameras to replace the mercury batteries that are no longer made. They work great!

I ordered these in order to adapt modern batteries to the compartment for the Yashica Electro GX. The camera originally required PX640 mercury batteries which are now obsolete. The original batteries operated at 1.35v, so I opted to use 1.4v (1.35v) Zinc Oxide hearing aid batteries which I have attached to this review in a photo, though 1.5v SR44/LR44 batteries will supposedly work the same, and fit this adapter. I've heard the electronics on the GX aren't voltage dependent like other similar cameras and that 1.5v won't affect the light meter reading, however I prefer to try to match the original specs. I haven't taken any photos yet with these batteries powering the light meter, but it appears the be working properly based on some light testing. The batteries should be placed in the adapter the way I have it seated in the photo.

I recently ordered a Yashia Electro 35GX from Japan and needed a battery solution since the mercury batteries it used to use aren't readily available/affordable. These brass adapters worked absolutely perfectly. Picked up a package of 675 hearing aid batteries, dropped a couple into the adapters and the camera was ready to to rock. The battery/exposure indicators worked like a champ. Tempted to buy another set for a spare.

I used an LR44 battery with this adapter and it worked perfectly for an old Ruko Mark VIII scope that requires a 1.4 mercury battery for the red dot on the scope.

This item will allow you to use either LR44 or 357 size batteries in the Asahi Pentax Spot Exposure Meter. Specifically the Spotmeter 2.In the photo, note that the side with the small hole points up, with the battery positive side also facing up inside this adapter. Positive side up.Also, the meter will, uh, meter anytime you have the front cap off, so remember not to leave it uncovered unless you want to kill your battery fast.

I just popped some energizer 357/303 batteries in here and they work like a charm in my Yashica Lynx 5000E. You don't need anything else for these old cameras--it's gonna meter fine there's no issue with voltages dropping down, etc. Just get these and be done.(They came sparkling the gunk is from my camera)
