these ropes are very aesthetically pleasing but unfortunately since the package was vacuum sealed the suction cups are deformed and do not stick to any surface i am now dissappointed bc i will have to buy suction cups amd wait until i can use this item .

This was an awesome product but totally unusable due to the package being vacuum sealed. This caused the suction cups to be totally deformed. I waited over a month to make this review to see if the suction cups would go back into shape but saddly no. I tried boiling them, using a heat gun, and even low temp oven and they still look the way they do in the photo. The rope is great though and my crab loves to pick at it and even sleep on it. The strands are loose enough to stick treats in or plants. It is 100% cotton, so it is safe if the crab attempts to eat it.

My kids recently got hermit crabs, and we received a nice hand-me-down terrarium from a friend, but it only came with water and food dishes.For some enrichment, I picked up this climbing rope and a wooden bridge for them to climb on. Thus far, the rope has been the most preferred play item in the terrarium. Both crabs have spent a bit of time climbing up and down it. The rope comes exactly as pictured. The material seems durable, and the suction cups are sufficiently supple to stick to the glass. This was definitely a good addition to the tank.
