Been abused as a portable generator keep warm on a timer, and now a temperature probe plugin controller. I'm still on the same one(out of 2) and this is the second or 3rd winter!Currently High-temp RTV'd to my 7KW portable generator oil pan.

They're not 150w pads. They pulled 125w each at max. They do stick fairly well though. I just stuck them to my oil pan and they do make starts much easier in freezing weather.Minus 2 stars for being lower rated than they listed.

No more cold starts in the winter. No more waiting 15 minutes for the engine to warm up to get HEAT. Easy to install. Clean the oil pan with a degreaser, stick the heating pad on, and thread the cord through the front grill. Secure with a couple of zip ties. Use a timer to switch the electricity on a few hours before you expect to leave.

Bought two of these to help the engine oil flow better in winter on my 93 Jeep running 20w50 oil in the 4.0 & my son's 92 Ford F350 7.3 idi running 15w40. These are good little units. The have several feet of cord , they cycle on & off , once up to temp they kick off automatically until they get down to the colder setting then kick back on.I used black rtv under mine smeared evenly to prevent a hot spot from uneven contact. Then I applied masking tape over it (no plugged in of course) allowed it to cure for 24hrs . Once the RTV was cured I ran it to a heavy duty Y cord splitter so I could also run my Craftsman battery maintainer on one power cord removed the masking tape and watched it for a few minutes. You can barely here the unit click on & off as it cycles over a few minutes.Do your engine a favor if you don't have a heated garage and get one. One last thing, sand your pans after degreasing, I didn't go to bare metal myself but many people suggest that & the permetex rtv black is all you need, the red high heat isn't required but use what you like. I wiped the excess off my gloves while applying the pad to my pan otherwise it's a fairly attractive unit.

They claim up to 198°f , but that must be an average as they will go well into the 300's of degrees before cycling off, than back on about 80°. Be careful what and where you use these. They were so hot initially, they were smoking. So I had them magneted to my lift for a couple hours to see what would happen. They had my lift column about 120° in about 20 minutes. Not sure how I feel about these on my $50k racecar to keep the block from freezing. Think I'll leave them on my lift overnight with nothing flammable near by and check on it in the morning. Only about 50 degrees in the shop right now. Proceed with caution. And buy some big magnets with them, as the adhesive (3M) isn't that great, especially at these Temps.
