Fortunately I have an old school smaller traditional rim bongos with a 6-1/2" macho and 7-1/2 hembra. These skins are fine but they are both the same size and just barely fit the hembra. I don't know how they come up with 8.5/12. They're installed and I'm happy but boy it was close with the hembra.
