They work for desks that are at least half an inch thick. Doesn't tighten enough to work with thinner desks or shelves.I have one that is at my office and holds my backpack off the floor. Works great there. 3/4" wood desk surface. Very secure and strong.The other I have attached to a speaker stand to hold a set of headphones. Doesn't work great here as it doesn't tighten enough. I used a temp solution of putting a spacer in to make up for the thin surface, but the hook bends out of shape easily if it's not completely flush to a surface.

I used these to hang up my very heavy 9ft garland for Christmas and they worked amazing. The installation was easy, and I liked the pads so they didn't slip or destroy my counter tops. I did need 4 due to how big my garland is. They are a little pricy for 2 but I think it was worth it.

This is an official "chingadera". If you're listening mr Amazon, please add "Not A Chingadera" as a filter.Let me count the ways now. Sure, it's made of extruded aluminum or something, but the bolt used to tighten it to the desk has way too many threads to be convenient. Takes about 10 turns to take it off then the same to put it on, when it's within the width of the table top. The rubber part that goes on the tip is not secured on. It falls off,. then rolls under stuff that I have no interest in finding. So in the end, you end up gouging you desk with the naked bolt. Trash. And because I paid so little for it, I should have known this would be the result.

So I got these for headphones and they are perfect for that. It mentions backpack, but I'd be a little hesitant to use this for anything really heavy. Might work for you, but they're not terribly beefy.I also wasn't sure exactly how the tape was to be used so I just tried to apply it where things would touch the table. The screw piece is a little "cost effecient" and the point that fits on the screw and holds to to underside is also a little cheap.So, for headphones, I've no issue. Your mileage may vary for more heavier applications.

I have one within easy grasp for meetings and one to the side for overnight charging. No more shuffling my headphones around my desk between work meetings. Easy to install. Good tight grip on the desk edge.

In my laundry room I have a shelf that runs across the top of the washer and dryer. These hooks work great on the edge of the self to clean off the things now sitting on my dryer. These hooks hold the bag of dryer wool balls, a scissors I have a couple uses for, and clothes hangers waiting for the items coming out of the dryer.Another good feature, which made me decide to buy these, is the fact I could move these where needed on that shelf. I have already moved one of the hooks twice to get that perfect spot.

This is a perfect item. Hooks on to the side of the desk and is secured by tightening the screw.

I use these at my work desk and my personal desk at home. I like that they include a soft cover so you don’t damage the desk you use these on.
