Very strong chain and worked according to my intended use in lifting some concrete steps. It as constructed and I was not worried about it breaking and allowed for safe work. Good value

These are really well made, heavy duty chains. I have used them in several applications, and mostly to secure heavy objects that need moved within my fabrication shop. I've paid quite a bit more for chains that are comparable in quality as these, so you are really getting a good product for your money here. Would definitely buy these again in the future.

I haul equipment on my flatbed trailer a lot and I do not like using the long 10 or 20 foot chains. Alot of the time its easier to use short chains with a hook and then use a binder hooked to the trailer and then to the equipment. After looking in to these and asking my local DOT they said these would work just fine as a load chain as it is a heavy duty transport chain and hook. So, I put on of these on each corner of my skid steer with a binder on each and what a difference it has made. I use a D-ring set up for the steak pocket and hook this chain in to the d ring and then hook the binder to the tie down points on my skid steer. Ratchet them down and im good to go with out the extra tail and slack of a long chain. When I unload I take the binders off and the chain can hang from the d ring. No losing or moving a chain out of the way and throwing it over.Great fro what I use it for. and works great on trailers as safety chains as well.

The pics show the correct wll.The tag on the chain says 4900 like the pic but the title says 21000.Although, I wouldn't really expect a wll of 21000 from a 5/16 chain. For what it is, 5/16 chain its fine, and what I expected.Great item but title needs fixed

The 2-Pack Grade 80 Trailer Safety Chain (36 Inch) with 5/16'' Clevis Snap Hook is a durable and reliable choice for towing and securing heavy loads. These chains are designed to meet demanding towing needs and provide safety and security during transport. Below is a detailed review based on their key features.Pros:Heavy-Duty Construction (Grade 80):These chains are made of Grade 80 steel, which is known for its high strength and durability. Grade 80 chains are commonly used in industrial applications and for heavy-duty towing because they can handle high loads with minimal risk of breakage or wear. This makes them ideal for safely towing heavy loads such as trailers, RVs, or equipment.High Working Load Limit (WLL):The chains have a Working Load Limit (WLL) of 21,000 lbs, which means they are designed to handle a safe working load of up to 21,000 pounds. This ensures that the chains can secure large and heavy items effectively, offering peace of mind when towing or transporting substantial loads.Secure Clevis Snap Hooks:Each chain comes equipped with 5/16'' clevis snap hooks on both ends. These hooks allow for quick, secure attachment to the trailer or vehicle. The snap hooks are sturdy and provide a reliable connection, ensuring that the chains will not come loose during transport. The hooks are also easy to use, making it convenient to attach and detach the chains when necessary.36-Inch Length:At 36 inches in length, these chains offer a good balance between reach and strength. They are long enough to provide flexibility in securing various types of loads while still being compact enough for easy storage and handling. The length is suitable for a wide range of towing and safety applications.Versatile Use for Towing:These chains are suitable for a variety of towing applications, including trailers, RVs, boats, and heavy equipment. Their high strength and durability make them ideal for both personal and commercial use, ensuring the safety of the load during transportation.Corrosion-Resistant Coating:The chains are often coated or treated with a corrosion-resistant finish to protect them from rust and degradation due to exposure to the elements, especially in environments with rain, snow, or salt. This increases the lifespan of the chains and ensures reliable performance over time.Value Pack (2-Pack):The 2-pack option provides good value for money, giving users two safety chains at once. This is beneficial for ensuring that both sides of the trailer are properly secured or having a backup set of chains in case one gets damaged.Cons:Bulkiness for Smaller Trailers:While these chains are ideal for heavy-duty towing, they may be too large or bulky for smaller trailers or light-duty use. For users with smaller loads, these chains might feel overbuilt, and a lighter-duty chain might be more appropriate for ease of handling. No Adjustment for Length:The 36-inch length is fixed, meaning it might not be long enough for certain towing situations that require more slack or longer chains. While 36 inches is a common length, users needing additional length for specific vehicles or towing configurations might find them slightly limiting.Weight:The heavy-duty construction of the chains means they are relatively heavy, which could be cumbersome for some users to handle, especially during frequent use or when needing to store them in tight spaces.Possible Hook Size Mismatch:The 5/16'' clevis snap hooks may not fit all types of attachment points. Depending on the size of the hook openings on your trailer or vehicle, there could be compatibility issues. It's important to check that the hook size fits your specific towing setup before purchasing. Conclusion:The 2-Pack Grade 80 Trailer Safety Chain with 5/16'' Clevis Snap Hook offers excellent strength, durability, and safety for towing heavy loads, making them ideal for commercial and heavy-duty personal use. The 21,000 lbs WLL, secure clevis snap hooks, and corrosion-resistant design provide peace of mind when transporting large or heavy items. While they may be overbuilt for smaller or lighter towing needs, their robust design ensures reliability for securing substantial loads. The two-pack offers great value for users who need extra chains, and the 36-inch length is versatile for most towing situations. Overall, these chains provide a secure and high-performance solution for users looking for heavy-duty towing safety.
