I have a couple other sets of cabinet jacks that are very well made, in quality of workmanship, ease of use and are highly stable because of the good quality material that are manufactured with. All these attributes have led to reliability and stability when being used. I can't quite say this set of cabinet jacks are in that same category.First, although this point has nothing to do with my first paragraph, no directions come with these jacks. There are photos that may be helpful, but If I were a first time user of cabinet jacks, I would have no idea how these are supposed to work. Even having two other sets of jacks, and knowing the concept of how these are supposed to work, it took me a moment to figure out what I had in front of me.Second, by design, the two pieces of the jack shaft come apart if the knob is loosened. I'm not sure why anybody would separate the two pieces. It seems to me that this may easily lead to an accident.Third, the pads are made of some type of PVC. They are strong but my other jack pads are made of metal and these don’t feel as stable as I'm used to, especially when I put a good amount of weight on them and when I applied pressure to them. Even with the limited time I spent using these, I still saw some flex in the pad. Perhaps that's how they designed them in order to alleviate the stress on them, but it made me a little more cautious. The stability is not what I was hoping for.Fourth, even when I applied the whole weight of my body, about 175 lbs., I had a very hard time getting the ball ends of the jack securely seated in the jack pad. Maybe I was going about it wrong, but without directions, I will never know. These 24" jacks do function well if they are being used for light duty work. I don't particularly like the design of this set of jacks and I would not place them in the same category of tools a professional might use. In my opinion, they could be better if only a couple of these issues are addressed.

There's an extra set of hands in a pair of mini jacks. Easy to adjust to height needed through hand grips. The design is very functional, even for a one-man show. They held up great under the weight of a metal cabinet. Great investment and tool to have.

I bought these to install a new microwave and upper cabinets in a kitchen remodel. Knowing that I probably wouldn't have a second set of hands to help, these seemed like a good investment. They made the job so much easier! I started by adjusting the "main leg"(red part) to just about the height I needed them, set the cabinet on top of the support arms, then squeezed the trigger handle to make the fine adjustments to the height. Once I leveled off both sides, I secured the cabinets to the wall. These arms don't seem super heavy duty, with lots of plastic (minus 1 star), but they held up heavy cabinets and a microwave without issues. Time will tell how well they hold up, but they were worth the price for even just the one use.

The project these are intended for has been postponed, but I tested one for this review and it seems like a good product. They feel solid and stable, and should work well for their intended purpose. Snapping the bases onto the ball-socket fittings at either end is a bit tricky, but once they're on they're not going anywhere. This is probably intended to compensate for non-level surfaces, but it also means you need to be mindful about putting these into place as vertically as possible and not at an angle that could cause them to slip when bearing loose-cabinet weight. As an aside, the photo shows the piston at top, but the finger-molding on the jack handles makes them easier to use with the red cylinder at the bottom instead.

I have used quite a few of these over the years from different manufacturers. The thing to note if your using these to set upper cabinets is they work well for small adjustments but I always rely on clamping the upper to the cabinet next to it as I make adjustments with these. These particular ones seem to be lighter duty than others I've used but they still easily work, again just make sure you don't solely rely on these alone. They are easy to use if you know what your doing and they are also easy to release when done. The only negative I would say is that the bottom shaft is plastic as most of the others I have used are metal and can adjust up and down by turning them. These do not but they also are not rated for as much weight as they others I have used. Overall they are descent light duty jacks for smaller lightweight upper cabinets and work well as a helper for small adjustments when hanging upper cabinets. They are also super cheap and budget friendly compared to others at the sacrifice of durability and capacity but still easily usable. They are also nice and compact and don't take up a lot of space in the work truck.

The adjustable height from 12 to 24 inches provides versatility, allowing me to tackle a wide range of tasks. I've used them for installing cabinets, shelves, and even as temporary supports for drywall. The sturdy steel construction ensures that they can handle heavy loads with ease. I love that they're so easy to adjust, and the non-slip base keeps everything secure.
