Followed directions. It coats and drys well. Will have to see its durability. There is virtually no smell at all.

Convenient packaging and easy to use - it even comes with 2 paint brushes. My only gripe is that it seems like Latex paint.

Love this product. Have used before. Its pricey but worth it. I use this wagon for yard help and have had for years. I abuse it and know it but this has given it a extended life for sure

Price was acceptable and was easy to use and cleanup. Applied as instructed and seems to be a good bond between the surface.

If you maintain/restore cars and live above the Mason-Dixon Line where the winters are hard and road crews love salt you are intimately familiar with rust. The only sure way to get rid of it is to cut it out. That is not possible, practical, or cost-effective in most situations so you need a Plan B. For many applications, rust converter is the answer. I have used the name brand products in the past but they keep increasing in price. Figured there had to be options out there and decided to try this Meuvcol brand. Short answer – it performed (at least so far) every bit as well as the big name stuff.I have a Chevy Silverado (Classic, GMT 800) and these trucks came with rust as standard equipment on their best day. Mine was made in 2006/2007 when the General was in dire financial straights and cutting corners wherever they could. As a result, I have been fighting rust on this truck since purchased new 18 years ago. This winter’s project – the factory installed receiver hitch and the under-bed spare tire rim.Removed both from the truck (and had the tire removed from the rim) so I could do a complete job (had done the hitch about 10 years ago with another brand). First cleaned the parts with degreaser. Removed all the loose rust (angle grinder and wire wheel for accessible areas, by hand with a wire brush in tighter quarters), and sanded with 400 grit sponge. Wiped the parts down with lacquer thinner. 90% of any paint project is in the preparation so don’t cheat. It takes less time to do it right than it does to do it over.Regarding the preparation, you don’t have to, and should not, remove all the rust – just loose material. Rust converter bonds to rust and if there is none present it is nothing more than an expensive primer.Applied the rust converter straight out of the container with no thinning. Comes with two “chip” brushes but I prefer to use something a little higher quality. Two thin coats spaced 2 hours apart as the instructions directed. Paint viscosity was about that of latex exterior house paint. Odor was not bad and clean-up was soap and water. Allowed it to dry a full 24 hours in a 65 degree heated shed after the second coat. Dried to an even matte black finish with minimal brush strokes showing. Used about half of the 35 ounces for this project so let this be a guide for your own use. This is a primer so despite what the packaging says it really should have a top coat for maximum durability. Used chassis paint (spray bomb) I already had on hand. Both the hitch and the rim look great. Look forward to getting them back on the truck as soon as the weather warms up a bit.Too soon to comment on durability or lifespan – the real test will come over the next few years. All in all, it seems to be a quality product and on par with the well known brands but at a lower cost per ounce – particularly in the gallon size if you have a big job. If it stands up on the hitch and rim, it will probably be my choice to do the bed bottom and rear frame when I tackle that project.Since I can’t speak to long term performance yet, this is an initial impressions review. As such, I will give this rust converter a solid 4 stars. Will return and update after some time has passed to comment on durability and adjust the rating accordingly. Don’t let this deter you from trying it. I have every expectation it will do the job.DISCLAIMER: I am a member of the Amazon Vine program. This means that I receive some products free of charge to use and review. I only request/accept items I will actually use. My reviews are based on this real-world usage – they are not mere regurgitations of the Amazon product description or insincere hype. I am not a shill and I do not consider the fact that an item was provided without charge as part of my ratings. I have given Vine products one star, five stars, and all points in between. A defective, incomplete, dangerous, or fraudulently described item gets 1 star (zero is not an option), a below average product 2, and an average product 3. You have to earn a 4 or 5 star rating. I put serious effort into my reviews and they represent my honest, hands-on opinion of the product. My hope it they will help you make an informed, educated choice whether or not a product is right for your needs.

Used to restore an old orange grove heater. Followed provided directions, adhesion was good and application with a brush worked fine. Was truly happy with the results. Will definitely purchase again if it’s longevity is substantial.

After a lot of research and consternation, I bought this product to help restore a 3-foot tall antique metal statue that had green oxidation on it in spots all over it from top to bottom. I used a rust remover on it, then stripped it of paint. It would not stay without oxidation and I had to do something. The owner wanted it back. So, I bought this and covered it carefully with two coats. It is beautiful when it is dry. It is not completely matte, nor is is glossy. It is a bit closer to satin finish but on the matte side. It covered the oxidation and, though I have only had 24 hours since I put this on it, the oxidation hasn't seeped through. I painted another piece of metal with it and tried out the gold paint I want to use to cover the black. It looks FABULOUS! I can't wait to paint the gold. It will give this statue a whole new lease on life! The paint is house paint consistency. It is easy to paint on and can be painted on thick or thin. It comes with a brush and rubber gloves and it all cleans up with water. (I cleaned the brush in an old plastic container then poured the water in an out-of-the-way place in our yard which would not affect our plants or dogs. I didnt think it was a good idea to put the clean-up water down the drain.) This product was less expensive than other similar products so I feel I got good value for my money. If I have any follo-up comments over time, I will add them.

I recently tried the Meuvcol 2-in-1 Rust Converter & Metal Primer on a few rusted areas, and my first impressions are really positive. It was easy to apply and immediately converted the rust into a black protective coating that also serves as a primer. The product saved me time and effort by eliminating the need for extensive sanding before application. While it seems to create a durable and smooth surface, I haven’t had the chance to see how well it holds up over the long term. So far, it looks promising, and I’m hopeful that the protection will last. Perfect for quick rust repairs and prepping metal for painting!
