Hello once again, America the Beautiful—the Manchester Mothmen are back by popular demand! This time, we’re here to stay.

So, what makes us the best? Come on, who else is making moth traps with that unforgettable shade of lapis lazuli blue? And which other brand name gives you the daily dose of alliteration you so desperately crave?

Jokes aside, we’re the UK’s number 1 moth trap for a reason! We don’t skimp out on the pheromones, for one thing, nor do we cut costs on the high quality glue that covers the inside of our traps. This gives our traps a more powerful radius of attraction while preventing the possibility of an escape. Each moth caught will result in a massive reduction to the overall problem! Our traps are also odourless and contain just three vital ingredients: paper, glue and sweet, sweet pheromones. Plus, by avoiding the need for a separate pantry moth trap and a separate clothes moth trap, we’re doing our bit for the environment too!

We know what customers need, and provide value wherever we can. For example, let’s look at you: given that almost nobody reads Amazon descriptions these days, you’re a right diligent buyer! You’ve likely already got an infestation, or are very concerned about moth prevention, and are trying to read up on the topic as much as you can. You’ve come to the right place!

So, the first thing you need to know is that clothes & pantry moths are deadbeat parents. We’re not kidding, their life cycle consists of mating, abandoning their children in your clothes/food and then promptly dying. It’s not moths that eat your belongings, it’s their larvae. These eggs will be laid in clusters ranging between 30 and 200, and once they hatch, the devouring begins.

Here’s the main species our traps catch:

Common Clothes Moth
Pale-backed Clothes Moth
Case-bearing Clothes Moth
Indian Meal Moth (also known as pantry moths)

If you’re having trouble identifying the moth species in your home, feel free to send us a photo and we’ll happily take a look!

What’s great about our use of dual pheromones is, you don’t need to worry about distinguishing between pantry moths or clothes moths, as our traps will catch both!

But you know what’s even better? You can start tackling an infestation right here, right now, even before our traps arrive! Since pheromone traps use female pheromones to target male moths, they’ll break the breeding cycle, but they can’t do anything about the eggs that have already been laid. That’s where you come in.

For clothes moths, you should clear out all clothes wherever you’ve seen moths or noticed damage. Stick the clothes in the washing machine at 120 Fahrenheit (minimum), and for whatever can’t handle this temperature, we’d suggest getting it dry cleaned. These methods will kill the eggs that have already been laid. While your clothes are in the wash, we’d recommend creating a spray made with a 1:1 ratio of white vinegar and water, and using this solution to clean the surfaces of your closets. The acidity will destroy any eggs or larvae in the vicinity. It’s good for use as a moth spray too, doubling as a pantry moth killer and a clothes moth killer.

If the clothes moths in your home have used your carpets for their food source instead, we’d recommend spraying the skirting with the white vinegar/water solution, along with any patches of damage. After that, we’d highly recommend steam cleaning the entire thing, especially underneath furniture!

For pantry moths, you should search all containers of dried food in your home: at least one of these will have larvae present. Throw this out, far away from your home, and then use the solution mentioned above to clean nearby surfaces. We’d recommend buying airtight storage containers for the future!

Once your traps arrive, hang them up near any sources of food or clothes. That’ll take care of the adult male moths, so you can start to relax! Since moths have such short life spans, you won’t have to worry long about the female moths—they’ll die within a week or two, unfulfilled.

What about the alternatives? Well, we’d advise you to avoid moth balls, since they contain toxic substances. As for cedarwood and lavender, these can work well as moth repellents for closets but only if they contain enough of the active substance (oil) inside. Since these tend to stay in storage for so long, it’s difficult to measure this, and that’s why we think pheromone traps are so much more reliable. Then again, we would say that, wouldn’t we?

We had a moth infestation on our porch due to a bag of peanuts we feed to the squirrels. Like over night 50 moths. Yes I actually counted them. Since our porch is open to the house it was a problem. Once these were put up they attracted them immediately. They work great! Still had to swat some but they made it so much easier and cheaper than an exterminator.Several months later not one moth. Will put the others up in spring. Highly highly recommend these. Thanks

Does not work. Moths don't stick. Literally watched moths fly in, land on the sticky stuff, and then fly off with a little effort. Waste of money

Very effective. Set the traps up and within a few hours they had gotten to work. Customer service has also been great to deal with!

I moved into an assisted living facility and found that my clothes were invaded by little brown moths. I was afraid that I brought them with me from the apartment where I lived previously. I hung four moth traps in my closet and a couple of other places Al four were as full as the photo above. Maybe a total of 200! Now I have hung some empty traps. I caught 6 the first week. Not completely gone! I am now trying to deal with any clothing that might still have eggs or worms. Very important. The Manchester traps have certainly done what they are supposed to do. I love that you guys have a sense of humor. It helps to make the whole moth invasion seem less onerous!!!!

First, let me assure you I have a moth problem. 2 nights ago, I sat in my bed and over the course of 2 hours killed 9 moths. The night before, in total darkness, one dive bombed me in bed, hit me right in the eye then tried to go up my nose. No joke. So I thought, why not look for a solution. I was SO excited when I started to open one of these and already had a moth flying around me. However, I held it out to him/her and it would not fly in. I swooped it around trying to catch it. Nothing. I placed 4 of them around my home, including 2 in the bedroom where I find the most. Then I waited. Wait........there's a moth on the wall. I brought the "trap" over to it, placed it right over the top. It flew away. I swatted it out of the air and killed it with my hand. Second try----moth on the curtain. Tried the trap again. No interest. I basically chased it around the room with the trap until I just happened to catch it in there. Now maybe I'm confused, but I don't think that's how these are supposed to work. I checked all 4 of them this morning when I got up. Other than the one I forced in there last night, not a single moth in any of them. Yet look---------yep there goes one flying by and there's another on the curtain. These people should be ashamed of themselves.Update: I'm going to change my rating by a couple stars. I have caught some moths, but I've had to manually kill 3 times as many as I've caught and many times the moth I kill is flying right around the trap but shows no interest in it. I think they are worth it to help with your issue, but not for the price these are.

I was kind of concerned about using a pheromone product. But I took the chance and bought this set of five. Boy they worked well! I have been searching for the nest. I can’t find it, but the male moths are finding these traps and I believe they will all be trapped, and I will no longer have an infestation.Great valueEasy to set upEasy disposal.

I live in a studio apartment in an old building in a large city. In the last year I have developed a moth infestation. I panicked when I found a wool beret with several holes so searched for non-toxic moth exterminator treatments. I have a cat so spraying or fuming not an option; not that I would do it anyway. These popped up along with some others. I chose these because of their story and their catchy marketing; and, the quantity for the price. I am so glad I did. I placed the little cardboard traps in my closet and in my tiny pantry. I was fortunate enough not to have found any infestation in my dry grains cupboard, but found several dead moths stuck to the traps in my closet. These work very well without any toxicity to me, my cat, my clothing or food! I highly recommend if you have a problem. They work by attracting the male moths to the sticky boards on their way to mating with the females which stops the larvae that is actually responsible for the holes in the clothing. They are super easy to assemble and last for 3 months. They hook on closet bar, knobs, hangers or almost anything. They are completely odorless; and take up little space. You may still see an errant moth flying around, as I do, but I feel assured my clothing and food are protected. I highly recommend this brand. It also doesn’t hurt that the company has a great sense of humor with their packaging. I even sent them an email to thank them for saving my sanity!

I love these. Firstly they are 1/3 the price of the brand I used to use and they worked just as well. Plus, there is no smell. It was so easy to use…I just fold it over and stick the tab in the slot and hang it up. It comes with its own built-in hanger. Once it catches a bunch of moths, I just take it down and throw it away. No fuss and a bargain!
