This thread is great for sewing my leather projects. The wax is not soft like Tiger waxed thread, but I wax it myself and like it very much - especially for the price.

I purchase several things on Amazon and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description, I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Sellers have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR

This thread is TERRIBLE for hand-stitching if you intend to stitch more than about three inches of length. After about an inch or two of pre-pricked leather- and NOTHING crazy, maybe two pieces of 3oz leather- this thread will start to unwind and fray. The thread will come out of the needle and will leave a vast majority of the remaining length so untwisted and frayed that its impossible to rethread the needle.I’ve had to remove full lengths of stitching and start over just so I don’t have the unsightly overlapping spots where it’s obvious I had to start and stop a new thread. After completing the stitch line the stitches look weak and thin, this thread does not display a confident, decorative stitch. Because of the terrible engineering of the thread your stitches will not lay flat and uniform; even if patiently and professionally saddle-stitched the oddly twisted design of the thread will cause your stitches to lay awkwardly and look mis-stitched.This is not professional-grade thread to use if you intend to sell your items, this is hobby thread best suited to small items where the stitching will not be seen.I can’t say enough about how genuinely terrible this thread is. It’s not even worth the now-discounted price. I’m cutting my losses and this is going directly in the garbage.

Purchased both white and pink waxed thread for leather project using 9 oz (3.9 mm) leather. Stitching holes were made using 3/32 in punch. Waxed thread was stitched using saddlers harness needle (3/0). Found both colored threads to be even in color with no apparent irregularities. The thread was waxed, and although this can be quite subjective by the user and application, the wax to me was moderate. Definitely apparent to touch. The thread passed through the leather smoothly without any clumping or jamming. The thread remained intact throughout the sewing process without any strand separation/splitting. To test it’s strength, it did not break when stretched. The thread is 1 mm, but not as dense as other comparably sized waxed thread I have used. Knotting was not a problem, and it remained intact after cutting the ends. All-in-all, the thread worked very well, and I am satisfied with the outcome. I recommend this waxed leather thread, especially for large projects. It is economical and quality is not sacrificed.
