I do not recommend the Savio SUV026 UVinex System. When they work, they do improve your pond quality. But I’ve found the fixture poorly designed and the bulbs incredibly unreliable given their cost.The fixture works well with the Savio skimmer pond vault that services my pond. It is properly designed to expose the water to UV light without exposing the fish or humans to harmful rays. But my complaints with the fixture are three part. First, the bulb has 4 prongs that you must mate to four holes. When inserting the bulb, you cannot see either the prongs or the four holes (which is down the fixture's tube) you need to match up. It is often very hard to get the bulb set and unless it lights impossible to know if it is set. Second, the bulb does not screw or snap or otherwise attach to the 4 sockets, so it is prone to coming loose. And third, the rubber/plastic socket can slip out of alignment with the hole the bulb slides into making it impossible place the bulb and involves repairing the fixture and socket.The bulbs themselves have an incredibly short life, given they cost $114 each. I’ve bought 6 bulbs in the last couple of years and 4 bulbs in the last 4 months. Currently none of the bulbs work. So I’ve spent over $1,000 on a UV system and close to $700 this summer for a system that doesn’t currently work. One of the bulbs went out in 2 days, which I will say that the seller honored the 30-day warrantee. But I’ve found that most of them last a month or two before giving out. I would recommend looking for another UV system that is more reliable or at least less expensive to replace bulbs.
