Purchased these for my peds surgery rotation and ENT rotation. The view is good and they were effective, but after only about 20 hours use in the OR the right sided swivel part that raises and lowers the loops broke off. No trauma to them, never dropped them, the plastic piece just cracked and peeled away making it impossible to raise and lower the loops without risking breaking off other pieces of the plastic. Your return window will likely expire before you have used them enough for this to happen, so now they are basically an expensive set of safety glasses. Please don't waste your money on these; huge amount of regret, super low quality item, get something else for your surgery rotations/practice.

I’ve bought these loupes 2x now. I bought the first set in dental hygiene school. The field of view and light are fantastic for the price. They do everything I need them to do and I was definitely happy to save $1200+ while in school. I dropped the battery pack to my light a few times and it eventually gave out on me. Then the frames to the loupes broke and I decided to just go ahead and order a new set. My new ones arrived in June and I’ve been using them 30-40 hours a week since. My light has never died on me (I charge it nightly). My biggest concern is how cheaply constructed everything is. The light needs to be adjusted every time you put them on (which is fine, takes me 2 seconds) but eventually the screw holding it to the frames became stripped and has fallen off completely. I had a similar small screw that I jammed in there to keep it steady that seems to work OK (pictured). It’s obviously not a perfect fix and I keep meaning to take them to a shop for repair. My reason for writing the review now is that, despite meticulous care this time around, the stress of taking the loupes on and off has caused them to crack clean in half. I’ve super glued them back together and am hoping to order a new set of frames from Songzi to replace these ones. Still, I was aware of the lower-durability after the first ones broke, and was diligent to always loosen the straps as much as possible when taking them on or off to avoid resistance. The fact that these didn’t hold up to even 6 months of consistent use is the testament to quality. IMO it still makes more sense financially to have these replaced then to shell out for custom loupes, but don’t order these believing that they are some miracle product! If I am unable to replace the frames then I will be looking to get a more durable set in the new year.

UPDATE: I’ve had these for 5 months, today in June 6th and I’m sad to say they broke in half!! Literally! I’m so disappointed that they didn’t last longer, and of course my window to return them has closed. They “seem” like good quality but they obviously aren’t meant for the long or short haul.I’ve had these for 3 days, I’ve used my time to adjust them according to my needs. The product is outstanding for the price snd I’m very pleased. I bought the 3X magnification loupes & I’m trying to get used to them bc my old loupes were 2.0 mag. The first couple of days I had the loupes completely outstretched (1st pic) which caused me really bad neck pain bc I didn’t realize I could shorten them either higher (2nd pic) or LOWER (3rd pic) which is where I needed them! But now that they’re adjusted I’m hopeful that my workdays will be more comfortable. They are heavy on my nose and so I’m researching a way to balance that weight on my face. When I come up with a solution I’ll update. overall they are a great product for the price!! :D

This product exceeded my expectations. I purchased 2.5x with LED. I am in the medical field and use another pair of loops without lights that cost twice as much as these did. I use them in another exam room so I do not have to transfer or carry my loops from patient to patient. The optics are clear and slightly brighter than my other more expensive pair without the light.

I have been practicing for 30 years and using loupes for the past 12 years. I have coutom loupes from $1500 to $5000. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the quality of these loupes. The delivery time was fast. The loupes are lightweight and easy to see through and super quick to ser up and assemble. I love how bright the light is. I will most likely not but another Surgitel or Orascoptic ( they break very easily and are heavy compared to these. Even though they are covered under a warranty and get repaired it takes FOREVER to get my rep and get to the right person and turnaround time for repairs is Horrendous!) I must add ,however, I obviously do not have my multi focal eyeglass prescription in these but I am near sighted and don't miss that option much at all. I just move the treatment screen from the patient screen to mine and back or stand and review findings in front of the screen for my patuents. These loupes get the job done beautifully and for a great price! I can have 4 for the price of 1 of my old loupes!

Great product. I'm a first year dental student that didn't want to pay the premium for loupes. These will get you by. The frame construction is nothing special but it holds together well for a plastic frame. Just do not go tossing them around. The light is 5 stars as well Ive used the light for about 15 hours of continuous use and it hasn't showed any sign of getting weaker (I havent charged it, factory charge). Cord is heavy duty only downside is there is no indicator if the battery is getting low.For other students looking for the same. I got the Regular working distance at 3.5x. Im 5'11" and the working distance is perfect. I cant imagine doing a prep without them! Will definitely recommend to my class mates.
