The piece did not work. It did not insert correctly into the printer, and then as a result one of the pegs on the side broke off. Very dissapointed.

Accessing the memory slot on the HP M451nw is easy, there is a small door on the right side of the printer. It is tricky to install the chip because the printer has two tabs on the left and two on the right that must be aligned with the corresponding slots on the chip. THEN you can press the chip downwards to lock it into place. I never used the printer without it, so I don't know if it makes a huge difference, sorry.I figured, for $20, why not?

This RAM works like a charm. Between the upgraded 256MB RAM chip and the 128MB internal RAM that comes with the printer's motherboard, I now have 384 MB of RAM! Installation takes only minutes and requires no tools. Unplug the printer, open the trap door on the side, pop the RAM in (being sure to verify correct orientation of pins and that it's fully seated), power back up, and voila! Maxed out RAM!

We just bought an M451DW HP printer and to be honest, the 128MB of built-in memory may be more than we need but for $20, I figured "why not avoid any memory issues now?"Installation took about 2 minutes. You open the memory cover on the side of the printer, insert the memory into the open memory slot, push it in until it clicks and you're done. I printed out a configuration page for the printer and it showed the new total memory.It could not be much easier.

My printer seems happy with this memory; installation isn't hard if you've ever inserted a DIMM card before. And the price is certainly more favorable than the other options. Of course it's a shame that HP didn't just put enough memory in the printer to start with, but one could think that about the half full toner cartridges that they provide too. Anyway, shipment was prompt (arrived on the 3rd day after placing the order late one evening), the card appears to work fine, so as far as I can tell there's no reason to spend 4x this price or more for a memory card for your LJ 400, just get this one.

Ordered this memory with HP M451DN color printer but the printer would not start with the memory inserted. Returned for replacement at my $10 cost. Again the printer will not start with this memory inserted. Going back a second time. Beware ordering this memory chip. It is a perfect fit and aligns with the pins, just doesn't work.

I purchased the M451dn Printer to print wedding invitations and I wanted to upgrade the memory on the printer to ensure a smooth and quick print with the graphics. I read other reviews that said that this memory didn't work but I found that this worked great. In less than a minute it took to turn off the printer and unplug the unit I had the memory in place. I powered the printer up and checked the config report and the memory registered and went from the default memory of 128 MB to 384 MB. No problems at all. Great price and a very quick delivery. I had the memory in the same time as Amazon took to ship the printer with my Prime account. Thanks for the quick turn around.
