I had to sort out sprinkler wires to figure out how to require them. I used an adapter to convert the barrel connector to 2 terminals. I connected an amp meter in series with 1 terminal to measure current and then touched 2 wires to the 2 terminals. If it turned on a sprinkler valve, then checked each wire with other wires until I figured out what the sprinkler common wire was. Then I labeled the wires so I could require the system. Great 24VAC power supply to have.

So I reached out to Rachio for a replacement power supply as mine stopped working. Once received I installed it, however it only worked for about a week. So back with my irrigation not working again. Found this one and waiting some time before posting review as I thought it would go out as well. I’m now at 1 month and it still works.

I have a lot of extra "wall warts" but specifically needed a 24VAC power supply. This one is a nice addition to my electrical toolbox for testing HVAC digital thermostats and my irrigation solenoid valves. Also, it will be my backup power supply for my Rachio irrigation controller. Under "About this item" it is advertised as having a 500mA rated output. Mine is labeled as 1000mA. The seller may want to resolve this discrepancy. It is advertised as having multiple built-in protection modes, however it doesn't appear to be UL listed.

Not much to say about this one.. it's an AC adapter, and works as advertised. Packaging is nondescript (plain white box with little lettering), no instructions (though none needed, really). But it's got everything where it counts: the barrel connector is a perfect fit for the Rachio, and it's advertised specs match up to where they should. Rachio powers up without hesitation and starts doing it's thing. This is an AC adapter, so there really isn't a need for any frills or anything past the bare basics, which this just get the job done. Would recommend!
