fits perfectly and holds charge very well! the motherboard connector was a bit fiddly to get plugged in, but it fits and works as it should

Dell's XPS line used to be great. This battery is better than the XPS 9530 it's installed in. No complaints about the battery. . . .UPDATE #1: Spoke too soon. It has been ten months since purchase and installation, and the battery has swollen to the point it is popping the touchpad up and the bottom cover out. So why do we hate the cheap-quality crap that comes out of China, and why does Amazon sell almost nothing else. Question mark intentionally omitted.UPDATE #2: There's a 1-year warranty on the battery. I'm within one year. Amazon won't do anything - says to contact vendor but DOES NOT TELL HOW. Of course, Chinese vendor. Vendor says (on product page): "We believe that communication is the best way to solve problems. If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to contact us." BUT THEY DON'T SAY HOW TO CONTACT. NO PHONE, EMAIL . . . NOTHING. What a load of BS.

My original Simplo battery started to swell, pushing the touchpad up and making it unusable. Positive reviews convinced me this was the one of many candidates to replace Dell 7D1WJ 91wh battery for my Dell XPS 15 9530 laptop (note: if you have internal 2.5" drive, don't buy a 91 wh battery; buy a 61 wh as the 91 wh is too wide to fit with the drive. If you have just an SSD you're fine.) Seller recommends running battery nearly to (but not all the way to) 0% and then recharge to "set" the battery life. Make sure you do that. You can view your battery's life history with the C:WindowsSystem32> powercfg /batteryreport tool. It shows this battery's capacity descended from 91,200 mWh to 76,000 mWh in 4 months and 43,900 mWh after one year. Full charge today shows as 2 hours, but after 30 minutes bottom falls out of the charge and get warning at 5%. You may get better results, but now deciding how much to spend to re-re-extend my favorite laptop with a reliable battery. When you do buy a battery, recommend you use that batteryreport tool to verify it can hold advertised charge (this one did), but document if it drops within warranty period so you may request replacement if battery deficient. I bought this battery as a replacement for my Dell XPS-15 9530 laptop battery. This new battery works as advertised for this application. All the screw holes lined up perfectly. The connecter from the battery to the PC board is configured slightly different from my original battery. I've attached a picture which shows the new battery installed with the old battery placed below it. The original battery had a ribbon type cable and the connecter was aligned with the plug. The new battery uses a longer multi-stranded cable instead. It connects perfectly well with the PC board plug, but you have to bend the cable to align with the PC plug. Hopefully the picture I've included clarifies my explanation. It's not a problem; that extra cable built up does not interfere with the back case covering. I wouldn't be surprise if Dell sold the xps15 9530 with two slightly different pc boards and this battery was designed to handle a slight configuration difference. Bottom line is that it worked just fine for my 9530 as advertised.HEADS UP: you must unscrew the back of the case to replace the battery. Most screws are at the edges of the case, and two screws are under the identifier plate in the center back of the case. The screws are very tiny, and you need a micro sized Phillip screw driver to remove then. I have a set of tiny laptop screws as spares just in case I loose any or strip any of the heads. The kit of laptop screws I bought came with a screw driver the works perfectly well for those tiny screw heads. You'll strip the screw head if you use too large of a Phillip screw driver.I did not rate the battery life or longevity since I just bought it.

Apparently Dell has discontinued the battery for the XPS 9530 My laptop is still going strong and I figured that it was worth replacing the battery in it. This battery is a direct replacement for the original which lasted 9 years. If this one lasts at least half as long as the original, I will be happy. I didn't rate the longevity, because I have only been using the battery for a week. So far so good and the laptop will run for several hours from a full charge.

This battery extends all the way into the right front compartment where 2.5" drives are mounted, so you can't have a 2.5" drive and use this battery, but that compartment is empty for me and the battery life is MUCH longer - easily 3.5hrs for me doing WiFi work.

I plan to update this thread in a few months but here is where I stand after the 1st week...The install was super easy and I was coming from the smaller battery size which means I had to remove the HDD mount that was installed so this larger battery could fit (i am keeping this mount in case I need the space, but it will require the purchase of the smaller capacity battery).My battery came in at around 80% charged and it took no time to get the battery to 100%. With regards to battery life, I haven't had too much time to play with it, as normally I keep the device plugged in. All I know is that I have max battery life now that I am running a 91kw battery.In the bios, I have my battery charge settings set to adaptive, and it is not claiming any issues with the battery, in fact it states the battery is normal.I purchased this because the OEM battery got swollen, as they tend to do after time, and I wasn't about to drop 4x the cost for an OEM battery.As the headline indicated, this is the XPS 15 9530 original laptop that dropped in 2014. Apparently, Dell has decided to reuse this model number for a more recent variant. Before you say anything, yes, this is 2023 and my 2014 laptop is still in great working condition (minus the battery). Back in 2014, the XPS was my main photo editing machine, and while I wouldn't recommend using this laptop in 2023 for editing, its perfect for my son who just started high school.As I indicated, I plan to update this review in about 6 months or sooner if something changes with the battery.
