About this item

  • Made of Viton (fluorocarbon elastomer) for use with a variety of chemicals and fuels
  • Durometer (hardness) of 90A for resistance to penetration
  • Round cross-section to provide a seal between cylindrical overlapping surfaces
  • For use across a wide temperature range from -15 degrees F/-26 degrees C to 400 degrees F/ 205 degrees C
  • Meets standards defined by Aerospace Standard AS568A

This O-ring is made of black Viton and has a durometer of 90A, a round cross-section, and can be used across a wide temperature range (-15 degrees F /-26 degrees C to 400 degrees F/ 205 degrees C). Designed for use in a wide variety of sealing applications, this Viton O-ring meets standards defined by Aerospace Standard AS568A, which is the Aerospace Size Standard for O-rings.

Viton (fluorocarbon elastomer) has heat, fuel, and chemical resistance and is compatible for use with non-flammable hydraulic fuels, silicone oil, chlorinated hydrocarbons (trichlorethylene), fuels, aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene) and aliphatic hydrocarbons (propane), as well as high vacuum environments, ozone, and weathering. Viton is vulnerable to low molecular organic acids, ammonia gas, alkalis, amines, glycol-based brake fluids, and super-heated steam.

The durometer hardness of this Viton O-ring is 90A. Durometers measure the hardness of a material and its resistance to permanent indentation. A higher durometer value indicates greater resistance to indentation. On a scale of 0 to 100, a value of 0 indicates that a sample was completely penetrated, while a value of 100 shows no indentation in the sample. The letter following the number identifies the shore scale, which is either shore A or D. Shore A is used for softer plastics, while shore D is used for harder plastics.

O-rings provide a pressure and fluid seal between cylindrically shaped, overlapping mating surfaces and are commonly seen in engines, faucets, flanges, valves, and various cylinders. They are circular in shape, with a round cross section, and a hole in the center, similar to a doughnut. O-rings are available in various AS568A dash sizes, which is the standardized sizing for O-rings, and defines the nominal inside diameter (ID), outer diameter (OD), and cross-sectional (CS) diameter of an O-ring.

The part was a perfect fit, and easy to install!

They were of good quality, and a perfect fit on my axle hubs, and a great value!

The 222 Viton O-Ring is correct for the Miata 1.8 L engine Cam Position Sensor. Note that you get a bag of ten. I did not notice that and ordered two, so now I have 19 o-rings left over.

Ordered these O-rings, based on a YouTube video suggestion, for my Briggs & Stratton powered push mower. Original O-rings didn’t seal the gas cap tightly & it kept coming off while mowing. These O-rings fit VERY tightly (probably a little tighter than I’d prefer), but once you get the gas cap secured in place, it ain’t coming off by itself!

Good quality o-ring at a price far cheaper than the OEM of my machinery. Sizing was exactly what I needed, but unfortunately the o-ring was too hard for my purpose; so, I ruined an o-ring (my fault!) and this was basically a wasted purchase as I have no use for the remaining o-rings. When needed I'll surely return to this seller to buy the same size with a lower durometer.

Used as a replacement for the gas system O ring on a Remington 1100 shotgun. Much cheaper than buying Remington O rings at 5 dollars each.

Just gotta get them into different temperature situations to see how they handle the variations.But. So far so good. 😊

These looked like the right size for my Pentair Salt System, but they did not work. The o-rings look high quality, they just did not work for me.

I've seen a lot of posts from folks who have had the sorta plasticky O-ring on their pet food vaults break, and I've had that happen to me on 2 different bins that we have for cat and dog food. Both bins have roughly 9" lids (measured as the diameter of the lid's screw top). This O-ring is a great replacement. It has to be stretched a bit to fit, but that's what we want to keep the ring seated in the groove right up against the top of the lid.As far as I can tell, the new O-ring forms a basically air tight seal when the lid is fully screwed down, and it does not make the lid difficult to open from being fully closed.I've only had the O-rings for a few weeks, so I can't speak to how long they will last. But they're exactly the right thing starting out.I grok that the manufacturer has not done the certifications for calling the O-ring "food safe", but it would be useful if there were some verbiage like "Non-toxic" or "No toxic outgassing" or some such to indicate that this really is safe for sealing pet food bins. I was kinda guessing from the fact that the O-ring could be used for vacuum seals that it probably wasn't going to much out-gas or otherwise contaminate pet food not in immediate contact with it.

Can't use it, it's too thin. It look thicker in the picture. It was supposed to be a 1/4 inch thickness not a tiny fraction of an inch
