I tried every possible combination of wires, this will not work with amazon thermostat because the RC jumper has to be in the up position

I have an electric heater wired for heat only with only W and R (aka Rh) wires, a standard 24v thermostat and installed a Honeywell T5 smart thermostat. Note my power supply did not come with instructions, which might be forgiven in that by definition you bought this because you are jerryrigging your way around an odd set up, and it may be impossible to address all the possible installation options. But lots of guidance available on line. For mine, in the new thermostat I simply needed to remove/disable the jumper between R and Rc terminals, connect the power supply to the now stand alone Rc and C terminals. Perhaps I was lucky in my first choice, but polarity does not seem to matter here. Then connect the existing R and W wires to the new thermostat as labeled.Smart set up then was as advertised for the thermostat.

Works, but the plastic box cracks open after one of use. Item is not good quality. Ring wall plug is better quality !

I haven’t been able to use it as it’s summer, but it was easy to install and looks much nicer than the one we had before
