I wanted to install a Ring Video Doorbell on the opposite side from where the old doorbell wiring was in order to get a better view for the camera. Moving or extending the existing doorbell wiring would have been a lot of work. I could have used a rechargeable Ring Video Doorbell, but it's a hassle having to keep checking and recharging the battery.Instead of doing that, I used this plug-in transformer and plugged it in to an outlet near the new location for the doorbell, but on the other side of the wall, which was inside the garage. Pretty much no maintenance now since we don't have to charge the battery for the Ring Video Doorbell.

Update: Sadly this stopped working after 1 day. This was a little under powered, wattage wise, for my 16 foot string. This may be best suited for 6 to 10 feet of LEDs only.I am building a master closet system, from scratch. Its made from about 20 sheets of plywood, and has a variety of different size boxes. We have some unique layout challenges, which leave dark corners, and spaces, which take away form the function of the closet. I have a lot of feet of LEDs to run, so a 24 volt system makes a lot of sense. This is the perfect power source. It does not have the extras like Alexa control. But this keeps it simple, and durable. I just need it to run off a simple wall switch, which I achieved by installing a switched plug.

I use a 24V DC system in my workshop so that I can take advantage of LED lights and accessories I find without having to put a 110V AC to 24V DC transformer on every device. However, some work lights need to be mobile so I use this at the end of an extension cord. Yes, I know, why don’t I just use a 110V AC LED light, and I can, but I like the lighting setup I have and they work well so I use this until they don’t work anymore. LOL. I also use these with areas where I need additional light such as a closet or crawl space where my 24V DC system isn’t available. Not much to say about the transformer itself as it worked right out of the box and I have had no issues even in damp situations like under the house. I have not tried it as a power source for a doorbell but the consensus here is that it is ideal for that situation as well.Loses one star as It does not have any “smart” capabilities so I pair is with a [Wyze] Smart Switch when I need remote capabilities.

This product came in a timely manner, packaging and products looked good. Did not work properly there was zero amperage or current output. Returning for a refund!
