This weather strip has just the right amount of flexibility to suit me. It will fit around a curve. The silicone won't absorb liquids. The adhesive strip adheres well.

This self adhesive silicone weather stripping works great at its assigned task; it also can be used for other helpful situations around your house.I have a couple window air conditioning units in my home that stay in place all year long. One is a dual purpose -- AC in the summer, and it heats in the winter. But the installation hardware is such that there is a small air gap between the unit and the hardware that lets outside air into the house. This is not a major problem during the summer, but in the winter the cold air coming in can lead to increased energy bills. This silicone weather stripping helps me do the job of closing off the air gap. The product itself is flexible and pliable. The adhesive side is easy to put into place -- just cut the product to the needed length and them remove the protective material covering the adhesive and press into place. For added insulation I have added a layer of double-sided tape over the air gap and then put the weather stripping into place. This ensures that everything will stick and "stay stuck." Because of the semi-circle design of the weather stripping, I am then able to tightly and securely put the main insulation block firmly in place to keep out the cold air. Works like a charm. This weather stripping won't "break the bank" and you'll be glad you have it on hand when these major and "off label" needs and uses arise.

The old seal around our backdoor has really deteriorated and allows a good bit of cold air in. I got this weather stripping to hopefully remedy the problem. We removed the old weather stripping and clean up all the old glue and dirt with alcohol. Before we installed the entire strip, we tested a small piece to ensure our door will close properly. Then we carefully peel off the weather strip backing in small increments and pressed the adhesive strip firmly onto the frame of the door. Note, you may experience a strong rubber odor while working with this strip. If this is bothersome, consider wearing a mask while working with this strip. After installing the strip, we found virtually no draft into the house (at our current freezing temperature). I am hoping this continues to be the case even if our temperature drops significantly. Overall, it's a definite improvement in eliminating cold draft into the house and I highly recommend this insulation strip.

I don't know if I would use these for an interior door. I tried to use them on my interior basement door to prevent waking up the kids from the surround sound. They stick nicely and are easily cuttable. However, they are dirt magnets, its almost like static cling. Unfortunately, they were a little 2 thick for my door way and my door was not able to full close. The believe the issue was the part that actually sticks to the door is plastic and not compressible. Overall, if you have a decent sized gap they work fine and will get the job done.
