Best heater I've ever owned. I'm on my second season in Missouri. I use it when the temps hit single digits just to warm the house up so my heat pumps don't have too. On top of that, it's very relaxing and provides an old school vibe. You can buy your kerosene locally for $9/gallon or pay $10 at your local hardware store in a 5 gallon jug. It'll run 8 hours on a full tank. Order a heat powered fan to sit on top and it'll get after it. Enjoy.

If you follow instructions and don’t fuel the heater in the house, I feel it out on the back patio I light it on the back patio. I ignite it on the back patio and it keeps the smell out of the house. We never smell the kerosene. The heater heats the house really well our heat pump turns off and remains off on those super cold mornings where they freeze up and are useless. Anyway, I notice all my neighbors units are running and mine is not the house stays warm enough until after mid morning, when there’s heat in the air for the heat pump to work.

This heater puts out a lot of heat. I have a 16 x 20 uninsulated barn that I occasionally work in at night, and I'm able to keep the ambient temperature at 70+ degrees farenheit. The only problem I've experienced is that the battery-operated starter doesn't work. When the starter is engaged, I see a small amount of wispy smoke rising from the wick, but the wick doesn't ignite. I have only been able to start the heater manually, with a match.

Just in case we are without power this coming winter I bought this heater. I do not ike the drip feed heaters and this is much better, more like the old parafin stoves (but much updated and safer) than in the past. I am delighted with it.
