This thing is heavy duty and comes pre loaded with tie wire. The case is aluminum as noted on the descrition and is heavy walled. Will definitely last a long time. The pre loaded tie wire is also good quality. Good value for high quality case and wire.

I'm not sure about the "light weight" description, this reel feels just about like any other I've ever used. It does work just as well though, so no harm no foul

Ok, so I'm not a mason or anything, just a guy that uses tie wire for projects around the house. I've tried to keep the wire from unspooling, but eventually I end up with a unruly mess. This works so much better. Yeah, there are tricks that are inexpensive, like wrapping the wire roll in tape and pull from the center. But the wire comes out in a spring form and sometimes tangles. This reel unspools the wire which works better for me.The cast edges are a bit sharp, especially the belt loops. But a bit of sandpaper took care of that right away.

Let me preface this review with this statement; "I do NOT order items that I do not intend to use myself". That said; if you do not know what this is for, then you do NOT need it. However, if you do, for the money this is a darn good deal. Only thing that anyone needing this will already know but......how you load the wire dictates whether the case lid stays on or falls off.I really like mine and I do recommend this one.

I have never owned one of these, but have seen others use them. Functionally it works well. Not much to it, pretty simple design. Only draw back is the belt loops are cast aluminum and they have some sharp edges, they wont cut you. But will wear your belt out. What I did was go around with a Dremel tool to clean up the edges, then stuck a piece of Emory cloth in the each look individually, ran the Emory cloth back and forth, this really smoothed the edges out so the belt will not wear out.
