I use this container for chicken feed, and I love it for that purpose. Flipping the lid open and grabbing a scoop out of it is way WAY easier than dealing with the bag of food that tends to get messy. Also I keep my food stores for the chickens outside, and so far the chickens/squirrels/whatever haven't been able to get into this container and steal any of it. I am likely going to buy another two of these containers to store other chicken feed in, so that's a definite vote of confidence for it.

This container doe NOT hold 25-28 lbs of food. My dog eats a 25lb bag every 5-6 weeks. I opened this bag on 2/20 and after my dog has been eating from this bag for 10 days, it still did not fit! Not large chunks, either. I don't have anything to say about the other features as of yet. Just not happy that I still have a dog food bag in my pantry. This item was supposed to fix that. 🙄

it is pretty well built but it does not hold the amount of dog food advertised. closer to 25lbs is more accurate.

These dry food storage containers are great for anything from dog kibble and treats to rice and beans in your pantry. It’s annoying to buy dry food in bulk and then have to untie or unclip the large bag whenever you want to access them. Keeping them in the bag also makes it hard to store and stack them. These storage containers keep my dogs’ kibble and treats easily accessible and also easy to store out of the way, and the clear lid lets you see what and how much is inside them. The lid closes with a strong magnet and air-proof silicone seal and the latch is designed to be easy for human fingers but not curious puppy noses. The containers also come with a plastic scoop and collapsible silicone bowl. This is a great food container that would be useful for many types of dry food!

The cat treats are secure. As in so far my cats, and dogs, can't figure out to break in to break the snacks out. They aree trying very hard.So. Treats for effort.Love the wide mouth lid. Some of these dry storage containers seem to require adding cat food one kibble at a time. This is very dump and go friendly.Strong gaskets. I suspect if the critters didn't see me put the food in they wouldnt know it was there. This bad boy is sealed right, no scent can get out. Meaning no smells can get in. Also no humidity, there is a insert area for desiccant pods. Or a convenient place to stuff all those tiny desiccant pouches into.Clear top. I can see what is remaining at a glance. Excellent to not run out of vital goods. And last but not least, when not storing cat food the container makes a nice cat bed. Every time I clean it out the cat tries to get in.These are also great for storing root veg, fresh fruit and just about anything else.

The idea of buying and storing pantry items like rice and beans in bulk is that you want to keep them dry and sealed against bug infestations and dust, but you also want to USE them. And that’s hard if you’ve got them sealed up in five-gallon buckets and vac-sealed mylar bags.I got two of these containers for keeping our dog food and dog biscuits fresh and accessible (the scoop and little collapsible bowl that come with the container are great), but now I want to get more of these for my longer-term food pantry. The clear lid makes it very easy to see what’s inside, and while easy to open, it also seals airtight. For grains and beans, I would think adding in some extra insurance in the form of silicon gel packs and some dry bay leaves (which bugs do not like) would make these very useful for those storage ingredients you reach for first but don’t want to bother putting in smaller jars. I like that they collapse when empty and stack neatly.
