This works great for the original equipment that came with the brand. After using it for a while I can't really see any difference and it seems to be a much better value. Batteries charge just as fast and last just as long as the name brand and sometimes maybe even a little longer. Everything works smoothly with the tools and chargers and other than maybe a little different color, like I said, I can't really see a difference.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I have been using this battery for a while now. It has a nice long charge and delivers the power needed for tough jobs. It fits into my 18v to 20v adapter with no trouble. I like the fact that it has LEDs on both sides of the battery. As for charging, I have never been able to charge it completely to 4 LEDs. I have tried different chargers, but it has never lit up all 4 LEDs. As for the construction of the battery, it looks really good. Does not look cheap and all edges are smooth.

Item arrived partially charged, 3 of 4 lights. Put it immediately on Dewalt DCB112 charger, which charges all of my 20V“Max” batteries, whether brand or clone. The charging light blinked twice then dimmed out. Not good. I tried another identical charger with the same result. I put the battery into a tool and it works. I ran it in that tool (Dewalt reciprocating saw) until it slowed and stopped (about 4 minutes continuous). The battery still showed 1 light. Back to the charger, flashed twice then dimmed out.I attempted to reach the seller through Amazon but the best I got was the “choose you own adventure” support chat, which ended with doing a return/exchange. The new item arrived today. 3/4 charged, dims out the charger after 2 flashes. That’s 0 for 2, earned 0 stars as now I have to recycle the eWaste (no returns on Vine review items).[EDIT] to be clear, the listing says all over it this is a fully compatible replacement battery for Dewalt. I would take that to mean it would function in the charger as well as the tool. The multi-language “manual” is readable only under magnifier, and does not provide any guidance. There is QR code which links to their YouTube channel. That’s it for support. Also not sure how you would get 5 Year Warrantty when the mfg is unreachable.

I already have 3 Mellif products. All 3 are tools compatible with the Dewalt 20V batteries. My impression of them ranges from a solid non-Dewalt tool to an outstanding non-Dewalt tool. Mellif seems (to me) to be among the better brands for non-OEM. So that's my bias and the basis for optimism before this battery showed up.The first thing I do with a battery is remove the screws and see what it looks like on the inside. Here's what I see, relative to other batteries I've looked at:- the BMS (battery management system; a.k.a. the little circuit board) is big. Some batteries have a tiny little BMS that makes me seriously wonder if its up to the task. (+1 Mellif)- no internal wires other than the 2 wires going to the switch for the charge level indicator. Many batteries have wires inside them. About 10-15% of batteries with wires seem to have wires crimped from misplacement during assembly. So seeing flat metal tabs instead of the wires is great. The flat metal tabs do not flex or move around during assembly, so they cannot get in the way and get squished between the two halves of the case. The two wires that are used are routed in a way that they cannot be crimped (+1 Mellif)- the cells are very well secured in a plastic honeycomb like plastic holder that holds them very securely. Some generic batteries just use double sided tape to hold the cells together. (+1 Mellif)- the cells appear to be properly sized DMEGC cells. DMEGC is used by Bosch. Many generic batteries have unlabeled cells (as if the manufacturer doesn't want to admit to them). Some have undersized cells. Some have supposedly oversized cells (making me suspicious of the ratings!). The 20P on the cell label appears to indicate 2.0 AH (x2 = 4AH capacity for the pack) cells that are optimized for power output the (the "P") rather than energy efficiency. In a tool, you want power optimized cells. In other words, the cells appear to be properly sized and and from a respectable manufacturer. (+1 Mellif)So I have no complaints. Based on everything I know to look at, this looks good. The current price ($33) is very reasonable for this battery.easily 5 stars

This battery is well built, seems well crafted and has a lot of attention to detail, with vent holes for heat dissipation, solid case construction with "padded" corners and it works well in all of my DeWalt 20V Max tools. I have used it on a DeWalt 1/2" Drill running a 3" hole saw drilling through 3/4" CDX. Came right out of the box with 3/4 charge indicated and fit right into my DeWalt equipment. No issues at all. It runs my DeWalt 1/2" Impact just fine as well. I wish i had read the entire ad- In the Q&A section of the ad it clearly states- It WILL NOT CHARGE ON A DEWALT CHARGER. If you get just the battery great, great value, it is far less expensive than a 4.0Ah DeWalt. Just make sure you get a package that includes a compatible charger. Until I purchase a compatible charging unit, I will have no way to charge it....4 stars because of its compatibility with DeWalt tools and build quality, minus 1 star for not being compatible with any of my chargers - Other than that, it is a great battery and I will probably break down and buy another Meliff battery kit that includes a compatible charger.
