These are sold as “14 K GOLD FILLED bill head pins but the seller states "Material: made of brass filled with 14k gold." That indicates to me that the seller does not really know much about gold filled wires. Nobody will actually cover a 14K wire with brass!"Gold filled" is actually defined as a gold outer tube bonded over a base metal (like brass). The amount of gold should total about 5% of the weight. This is much more gold than you would find in "Gold Plated." Gold Filled does have value and it is long lasting but don't be mislead to believe that the majority of the metal head pin is actually gold. That said, these head pins are nice gold filled pins and are sturdier than a sold gold head pin and therefore probably a much better choice for most of your jewelry making. They should not tarnish (if the outer coating is indeed, gold) while a Gold Plated metal could tarnish right through the gold. The current price ( Feb 2025) of just under $13 for 150 Gold Filled headpins is a very fair price these days. These are best used for smallish earrings or to add a few beads or one charm to a chain. The length is on the short side for an earring headpin. But since these are sturdy gold filled headpins you can get away with just a loop at the end without an extra wrap so you can probably fit most anything. you plan for an earring.I would give this item 5 stars except for the misleading statement in the description so I will drop it to 4 stars. I am concerned that if you need advice from the seller you will be talking to an uninformed seller. But the product itself seems to worthy of 5 stars.

These 14K gold filled ball head pins are a dream come true! They're beautiful, well-made, and arrived perfectly straight. I've already started making some gorgeous earrings with them, and the price is absolutely unbeatable. I highly recommend these pins to anyone looking to create stunning jewelry!

A nice batch of simple jewelry pins that are easy to bend and manipulate with pliers and loop tools. Ended up getting just over 100 pins which was a nice bonus, and they came in a nice little container. Zero complaints.

I've been in search of gold filled jewelry findings, and these head pins have been great so far. Gold tone findings always wear down in like 2 seconds, and so far the durability of the coating is holding (longer than gold tone, anyways). The head pins arrive in a baggie inside a little box - my box was actually broken. The pins are all even in length. The heads are sometimes not perfectly centered on the end of the pin, but I suppose the price warrants that level of slight imperfection. Gauge is pretty average for head pins - I got some crystal beads on there easily but not 11/0 seed beads. The metal is easy enough to bend with pliers but not so flexible that it will bend on its own. Overall I have been pleased so far with these head pins, and hope their durability continues to hold up with time.

These are very nice headpins, nice color of gold, small enough gauge for my smaller beads and pearls.I like the little container they came in.

I counted 102 headpins in a pack of 100.As other reviewers have said, this listing doesn't make sense. "Gold filled brass" isn't a thing, as far as I know. I think most are guessing they mean gold bonded over brass center, which is pretty ideal, sold at a good value, and fine to use for people who can't wear brass as the gold is thick enough. Gold plated or brass headpins would not work well for people sensitive to brass. So it's good when the description is accurate.I will try to figure out what these actually are. If they are gold filled headpins as I had hoped then great - that's what I need and they are the perfect size and width for my diy earhooks for making earrings; they bend perfectly with my pliers and look gorg. Two of the headpins have a strange coating on them that is very hard to remove even with a cleaning pad, but only two have it that I saw. One other one was chipped in the center. So I seem to have 99 useable ones.

I do a lot of bead work. I have not had any headpins with gold balls on them yet, so I got these.CONTAINERThese come in a clear plastic box which snaps shut. It is strong enough to store the pins in.FITThese are thin enough to fit most of the beads that I want to use. I use a tiny bead at the bottom to build up beads over the ball. I like how it works.FLEXIBILITYThese are flexible, but stiff enough not to deform constantly once used for earrings. I don't have any problems making the loop at the top or trimming with wire cutters when needed.THE BOTTOM LINEThese are nice for smaller beads and the ball at the bottom makes a nice touch to the earrings.MY RATINGFIVE STARS. These are nice for using with certain bead combinations. I like them and will use them a lot in making earrings. They fit the amount of beads that I want to use perfectly.
