I got this because the survival radios I have had in the past used conventional batteries with limited shelf life and usage time, and I was interested in seeing if the new technology lithium batteries present an improvement. I have to say, the difference is impressive. To test it I used it to charge my cell phone with just the charge level it had when it arrived, which was about 70%; over a couple of days it took my cell phone from under 20% to a full charge six times before its own battery was depleted, and then the radio charged fully in just a couple hours. Shelf life is yet to be determined, but if my experience with other lithium batteries is any indicator this should retain most of its charge for many months if not years, exactly what you need from a device that has to sit around unused for long periods until it is suddenly required. Beyond that, this radio has tremendous functionality with a lot of great features. The radio has AM/FM/NOAA settings for everything from emergency weather information to just radio music or talk, and a telescoping antenna. Plus with the Bluetooth function you can easily pair it to your phone for music, podcasts, etc. (although given the small speaker size don't expect concert hall quality); there is also a headphone jack for private listening and much improved sound. The very bright LED flashlight has three settings, and there is a handy flip up reading light. As I mentioned, it has a USB output port for a charge cable, and a USB-C input port for charging the radio itself, both concealed under a protective rubber flap. While charging from a wall outlet is the quick easy way, there is also a solar charge panel, and ad a last resort a crank handle. On top is a small compass, and on the side above the radio dial is an emergency alarm button that triggers a very loud siren. The package includes a charging cable, and a webbing strap that attaches to two molded plastic loops on the top to form a carrying handle. The unit itself is about 7"x4"x3.5", pretty compact considering all the features, and weighs about a pound and a half. Having had a few emergency radios in the past, I think this product is a very good value for the money, and I'm tossing my older ones, as this is all I need. If you're looking for a reliable multifunction emergency weather radio, I recommend this one.

First off. That alarm does it's job well. I reached in the box to take it out and it went off. After waking up the house before finding the switch, I was impressed.I got this for my quick trips off the grid or few days of camping when I needed a rechargeable device. It works well, but has some minor drawbacks also.Good:1. small and portable2. has AM/FM radio with manual dial for getting the signal just right3. has Bluetooth, so it can be used as speaker as well.4. built in siren5. able to charge via outlet, powerbank, hand crank, or solar (just don't be in a hurry)6. weather band radio for emergencies7. handy compass in case you know how to use it (it is small, but works)8. it has spot light, wide beam and a combo of both at the same time9. has a flip up light for more spread out lighting needs10. weather sealed so as long as you cover the ports, you can get wet in a rain fall or water splash11 ability to connect via USB to charge your phone or other small device.Drawbacks:1 it does have a large capacity battery, but do not let it sit for months without charging it. so make sure to plug it in or crank it even when you don't think it needs it2. using regular voltage for charging, and will not fast charge your device. Also larger things like tablets and such will charge, but will drain the battery quick since they need higher voltage to get filled up3. seems that it does not like multiple devices plugged in at the same time. So don't overload it and expect your items to charge at the same speed as if you only use one at a timeThe drawbacks are minor, as you can live with or get used to them and not have to worry. I love this, and am thankful I got it. I pack in for long trips also, in case I need roadside lights in a emergency.
