The SN74HC595N is an 8-bit serial-in, parallel-out shift register that powers an 8-bit D-type memory register.The storage registers have parallel 3-state outputs.Separate clocks are provided for the shift and storage registers.The shift register has a direct override clear (SRCLR) input, a serial (SER) input, and a serial output for cascading.When the output enable (OE) input is high, the output is in a high impedance state.Both the shift register clock (SRCLK) and storage register clock (RCLK) are rising edge triggered.If the two clocks are tied together, the shift register will always be one clock pulse ahead of the storage register.
