These are excellent little sanders for almost everything you need to get in hard places or just finishing edges on wood

The drums feel substantial. They grip the sandpaper sleeves quite well. I would have liked to see a wrench flat on the shafts. In order to tighten the drum I had to put the shaft in a vise. I don't like trying to use my drill chuck as a vise. Other than that they worked just fine.

Decent kit for the price. Works well in a drill press for mild shaping, rounding, and rough sanding. I've had cheaper sanding drums where the paper slides right off with any pressure, so I appreciate the tightening mechanism on these. Rubber feels solid. Happy with the purchase.

It's nice to receive both the sanding drums as well as some sleeves that go with them in a set. You only get one of each, but the sanding sleeves are more widely available than the drums. So in my mind, this is a starter set. The shank (they call it a "handle") is 1/4" so this isn't going to work on your rotary tool. It would work on a bench top drill press, or with a smaller drill that you can maneuver. Don't try to jam the sleeves on the drum, there's a tightening nut that you can tighten or loosen for a good fit. It's a good set, I'm happy with it.

I use sanding drums like these a lot and have been for a long time. I got this set to have as replacements. I use them for a lot of different sorts of projects, both in a drill press and a hand drill. Obviously they're good for sanding curved edges on boards, but a less-obvious use is when sanding the interior of power-carved bowls. This only works for the upper rim of the bowls, but it's good for that because it only curves in one dimension. Thus it can smooths out unwanted bumps and dips in that dimension. These particular sanding drums are as good as any others I've used. And here's the tip: If you find it hard fitting one of the sleeves onto the rubber core, putting the rubber core into a freezer for a few minutes will help.
