I absolutely love these bottles. They are sturdy and durable. I use them for my resin so I don't have to warm up a huge jug. I love that it has the clear cap on top as well. It's an extra measure for me to not have leaks.

Basic reagent bottle, acquired to carry oils and booze in an Adventure motorcycle long voyage kit. Wanted a smaller, lighter bottle than a lexon water bottle, but something that wouldn't degrade easily with some substances. In all, I'm satisfied, as it seals and fits the form factor I was looking for. The snap-off tamper proof lid is unnecessary, and a bit of a head scratchier until I figured out what it was. This said, once it pops off and you remove the little collar, the bottle can be well tightened (sealed) and appears to be fairly robust as to not fail at the threads if over-tightened. I'm satisfied.

Oddly, one of the more unique (and unmentioned) features of at least the 16.9-ounce (500-mL), and presumably most of the other sizes of this HDPE (high-density polyethylene) bottle, is the ability to seal the bottle with a security ring so that, if opened, it is readily apparent the bottle has been opened. This tamper-proof design, combined with proper chain-of-custody documentation, makes this the ideal container for samples. The aluminum foil gasket that can be sealed by electromagnetic induction sealer has its pros and cons. While the gasket does provide an excellent hermetic seal that also provides evidence of tampering, it is difficult to seal these bottles in the field and the aluminum foil, even if coated with a polymer, can potentially contaminate the sample depending on the analytes of interest. The 16.9-ounce bottles have a plastic insert (material unknown) that isolates the sample from the aluminum foil (refer to photo).PROS• Graduated HDPE bottles generally are chemically stable for environmental water samples.• These bottles are equipped with an aluminum foil gasket that can be sealed by electromagnetic induction sealer.• The 16.9-ounce bottles (and possibly the others) are equipped with a plastic insert that isolates the aluminum foil gasket from the sample.• Most sizes of bottles appear to be equipped with a locking (security) ring that provides evidence of tampering.CONS• Induction sealing using the aluminum foil gasket can be difficult in the field.• The material used for the plastic insert on the 16.9-ounce bottles is not specified.
