It was a larger gauge than I expectedI had to splice to a 22 gauge 3 wire that was a little smallerI think this is a good productIt used it anyways as it was for a gap in landscaping lights due to Rabbits chewing on cordThis cord seems to be of a tougher material

I went looking for exactly this type of wire. What I received was first-rate with very minor drawbacks. It matched my expectations. Normally, this wire is used in low-voltage com systems, computer harnesses, data systems, indoor systems (not inside the wall), and the like. The outer jacket of this wire is a tough PVC-like material that is well rated against flames, but the jacket also looks a bit porous. This wire, being a 20g 3-strand cable, is fairly flexible. HOWEVER, this wire is not rated to be run outside or underground or inside the walls of one's home. If it were rated for that, the jacket would have that info printed on it. While, technically, this wire can be used to carry a 120v AC current, it is 20-g and can't carry much amperage... low voltage is better. and when it fails, since it is carrying only low-voltage current, probably nobody will get hurt. I did think it was odd that the three jacket colors (Black, Red, Yellow) of the wire strands inside the main jacket are colors I normally associate with being "Hot - current carrying" wires. Making the mental adjustment was easy. I'm giving this wire a 5-star rating because it is what it says it is - and I do like the product.
