These were easy to hook up but they are physically big and you have to have quite a bit of room under the map for these to fit and the lamp to sit flush with your table/surface.

This is the second time I’ve ordered these. First time it was a bundle of two. I used the last of those to successfully revive the second 15 year old bed side touch lamp that is used frequently. I ordered two more to have them around if/when I need one again. Works great and trust the brand. To be clear, the originals in the lamps are what failed after 15 years, not one of these. First one of these I installed was about 2 years ago and it’s still working. The physical size was almost the same as the ones I replaced, these being about 1/4” longer but not thicker. For those would be DIY types, resist the temptation to NOT pay attention to the diagram; don’t rely on matching wire colors only! Wiring one of these is rather straight forward but there is a point you could easily do it incorrectly and not notice.

I don't usually do a review right after I receive something but I couldn't be happier. It took all of 15 minutes to install and it worked perfectly. I just read and followed the wiring instructions on the back of the package. I don't know how long it will last only time will tell. Fast shipping too!

This touch sensor worked perfectly to equip two nightstand lamps with this really cool feature. My lamps did not have a touch sensor from the factory but did have iron centers that ran all the way down through the base. This was the perfect conductor and worked great. Now I can touch anywhere on the metal part of the lamp and the sensor takes my 1 way lamps and converts them to a 3 way, LOW-MEDIUM-HIGH then off.For my smaller sized lamps, the black sensor boxes were too big to fit into the base of the lamp. So I decided to cut the lamp cord about 1 foot from the lamp and install the boxes hanging behind the night stand where you can't see them. I then extended the yellow sensor wire so it could reach up and into the lamp base and connect to the metal. Make sure to electrical tape the wire nuts well so they don't come apart.A WORD OF ADVICE based upon the reviews about wiring these wrong and burning them out. On your brown lamp cord, the side of the cord that has a rough edge or a marked edge is the WHITE or ground connector, the smooth side of the lamp cord is the BLACK or hot side. Knowing this, you'll be able to wire this sensor easily using the diagram on the package.I highly recommend this awesome item.

I had recently purchased 2 gorgeous lamps to flank my bed. The problem, as I saw it, was that they were mostly glass with an atiqued brass base and a large round brass pull chain.Being that no one is perfect, I could imaging myself or my husband going to yank on that pull chain and having that large brass ring crack or smash the glass.I read alot about converting lamps to touch lamps, and my brand new, very expensive lamps fit the criteria (insert nervous twitch here) Though they were glass bodied, they had a metal rod running down the center which was critical in the success of this project.Because it seemed everyone ruined the first set from not properly hooking it together correctly. I figured I would play it safe and buy 2 sets, I then went online and found the perfect instructions on how to convert my lamps.Converting them over was a cinch. I followed the instructions online and as well as the diagram found inside the package. My husband is so super impressed. After building 2 (two) 7 foot tall revolving shoe carousels by myself and installing them (saving well over 10k to order custom) and drawing up designs to upgrade and redo our front porch and add built-ins throughout our home, he thinks there is nothing I can't do.As long as you can read and follow directions, and your lamp is a 3 way lamp and has enough metal in it to make this possible, then I would say "Go for it". Take your time. It took me about 10-15 minutes per lamp and now I can easily turn them on and off with just a touch of my finger.November 4, 2019: They are still performing brilliantly with no problems at all. So glad I did this.

As I'm an electrician, sometimes I don't always read the instructions. lol. The wire colours on this switch were the same as the wire colours on my defective original. In the electrical world, the white wire usually denotes NEUTRAL! So I wired it up using same colours as the original. When I plugged it in, all I heard was a "POP". You can see from the photo that this box does not take kindly to being wired incorrectly. So after giving myself a slap in the face for not reading the instructions, I wired up the second one without any further issues. The only reason I'm giving this a 4 star is because the wire colours are misleading. Whether on or I was dumb enough to disregard perfectly good instructions, WHITE should ALWAYS be NEUTRAL!.Other than that, the unit works as intended.

Previous reviewer was right, follow the instructions on the wiring diagram on the package and you'll be fine. Included decent quality wire nuts to hold everything together. Much prefer putting touch lamps back as touch lamps than wiring with a mechanical switch and this made it much easier than I'd thought. Only minor complaint is that it was slightly larger than old switch on one lamp by a fraction of an inch and there was a bracket on the lamp. Would advise checking the underside of your lamp to make sure dimensions are okay. I discarded bracket and it fit fine with a bit more double sided foam tape.
