I’m not sure what to say about this 2 pack of Bota Bags. My only real reference point is to think of the Botas we had when we were young. They were definitely leather with a flexible synthetic inner liner that was waterproof. You could squeeze them and fold them, and when filled they would expand to accept more water. They had a squirt type of tip similar to some water bottles. These are different. They appear to have a covering over a semi-rigid inner plastic core. The plastic “bottle” has a screw on top and it seems to seal up well. The cap is attached to the Bota with a very fine thread of some kind which is also the stitching material. It doesn’t look like leather, nor does the darker decorative piece that is glued on to the neck of the Bota. The stitching is very well done, and the outer layer of “leather” is very fine and consistent, in color and texture. The Botas have carrying straps which also seem somehow synthetic, and quite thin and weak. I have a digital microscope so I took photos of the stitching, and the carry strap. I really have no idea what this material is. Perhaps someone with more technical knowledge can clarify. Overall these are not as robust as the ones we had as kids, but still seem to be functional. the metal funnel is a nice addition. I think that these would be best for indoor decorative use, or perhaps as costume, or Cosplay accessories.
