This two-pack of tracing paper turned out to be a surprisingly good find! Usually I'll buy tracing paper bound in pads in the same section of the store that has sketchbooks, but I thought I'd try it out in roll form just to see how different it could be. It was like the difference between night and day -- I was quite surprised! The paper is smooth and, while it had a bit of tooth, was otherwise untextured. There was none of the ripples that some tracing paper pads have when the delicate paper absorbs moisture from the air. It's heavier than sewing pattern paper but still retains just as much transparency, and is thin enough to still be pliable. Best yet, you can cut off exactly the amount that you need, rather than having to stick with pre-cut sheets. This is actually a huge plus, at least for me, because it always felt wasteful to only use part of a sheet and then have to scrap the rest.It also means I can use these long sheets of paper for larger tracing projects, like sewing patterns, which makes me VERY happy because I've always had to use the digital patterns I purchased before on typing paper and it's very frustrating to not be able to see the pattern of the fabric you're using underneath the thick, opaque paper.I mean, admittedly, I haven't sampled EVERY kind of tracing paper that exists out there but, compared with what I used to purchase, I'm heartily impressed. The only thing I have yet to figure out now is whether to set this up on a paper on a paper towel roll or just measure it out by hand each time. Maybe I'll save an old cling-wrap box to use with it, as an option, too. There are just so many things to try!

The paper its not enough transparent for working...

This tracing paper is very difficult to evaluate. It is not as good as other inexpensive brands. On the other hand, one gets really a lot of it, and it does the job. The paper is very thin and it will crunch easily if you move it while working. My biggest complaint is that it is not that transparent. On the first photo one can see comparison with the least expensive tracing paper I got from the local arts and crafts store. This paper is on the right. It may not be that obvious from the photo, but it is noticeably less transparent. The paper is OK in that it is easy to trace on it with a pencil. One can apply the usual techniques when working with a tracing paper. On the second photo, I traced an image on the paper, applied white pastel pencil on the other side and traced it again to a black cardstock paper. It worked well. The paper is the most useful if one needs a lot of it, as it is very inexpensive, and quality is not that important. For example, for use by kids or some project where one needs really a lot of it.

Tracing paper is so nice to have because sometimes you just need to get the outline of something or you just need a rubbing of something. And having Trace paper in a roll gives you variety of size versus having to buy multiple sheets of paper. This is absolutely worth every penny. The transparency is wonderful, it's so easy to use, because it comes in a roll it's versatile so it could be used for many many projects, and it doesn't tear like tissue paper so it's durable. Absolutely quality paper.
