I use this for when my chiclids are holding fry. Enough room for a 3 inch fish but I wouldn't try to put a larger fish in it.

I have a 75 gallon mixed species tank and my guppy fry seemed to never make it more than a week or two before they got gobbled up by something bigger and this completely solved the problem. I was able to collect 10 fry and placed them in this net at the top corner of the tank and so far nobody has escaped and no one else was able to get in. Great value for the money , I only put one together but it only about 5 minutes to set up and put in the tank. The water flows through it nicely , the holes are big enough to set water pass through easily but not quite large enough for even the smallest guppy fry to escape. The suction cups are good quality and stuck on securely to the side of the tank. I didn't need two of them but I'm sure once this one gets covered in algae it will be great to have a backup if I need it again.

The plastic is sturdy and the nets are fine, but the sole purpose of these is to be suctioned to the wall of the tank, which it does not do well. Even with all 6 suction cups attached to the net, it continues to float away in my tank. I’ve have to zip tie it to the side of my tank to keep it in place. I’ve lost fish into the main tank and almost lost all of my fry because it doesn’t stay stuck to the wall.

I bought these to keep my school of angelfish fry safe and confined in a small space while inside a larger volume aquarium. It was doing its thing until the suction cups failed when I was away from the house and the net breeder sunk to the bottom of the 20-gal aquarium I placed it in and the fry escaped into the tank. There were no larger fish in there to eat the fry, but I would’ve preferred that they stayed confined to a smaller space for another week so they wouldn’t have to search for food and waste a lot of energy swimming back and forth, but it wasn’t to be. Also, there were gaps between the net and the plastic frame in the corners and each day I’d have to liberate at least one baby fish from the corners. Fortunately, no fry were harmed during the use of this product. I was able to affix the net breeder to the top of the aquarium with a plastic clip I had and also was able to make some adjustments to cinch up the netting to prevent the gaps. So, we’re all happily ever after over here!

Great breeder boxes for the price. We have a 40+ gallon Bow Tank so finding something that fits decently well was a little tricky considering our heater placement, canister filter inlet and outlet hoses, and the bubbler. These were small enough but large enough to do exactly what we needed it to when our mollies had there fry. Sadly however the fry did not survive due to a couple of section cups coming loose causing the box to tilt just enough below the water surface to allow the fry to escape into the community tank there for being eaten by the other tank mates throughout the night. Maybe it the sections came loose because it was my boyfriend who installed the box and just didn't get them to suction properly? I am not 100% sure, but I know that next time the mollies breed, which will be very soon as our female is pretty bulbous right now, I will be installing the breeder box myself. I'll come back to edit my review afterwards to say whether it was his instalation of the box or just the suctions themselves. Otherwise the breeder boxes are pretty nice. If our tank wasn't rimless I would attach some hooks to hang it from the side to ensure it doesn't go below water level but I cannot with the set up we currently have. Hope this helps anyone looking into these breeder boxes.

The only downside for this breeder box are the suction cups. The suction cups don’t really seem like the correct size for the box. Other than that, the box is great and definitely serves its purpose

I ordered this because I have an injured cichlid and needed to protect it from its tankmates so it could heal. I specifically chose this product because it has 6 suction cups, as opposed to two on many other models. Nonetheless, after assembling and installing it, the suction cups soon let loose and the box sank into the tank defeating its purpose. I reinstalled it, particularly making sure the suction cups were sealed against the glass. It did not stay in place even for an hour before it let loose again. Because it will not stay in place, this product is of no use to me.
