I ordered a set of these for my granddaughter because she just loves butterfly and moths. They arrived fast but first set was an already returned one so we contacted customer service and they had a new pair of the next day. I thought that was awesome. The price was right and the build quality is there. They look great and are a good size. The head fit so many in this two cases. The display cases look great and the functionality is fine. I would definitely recommend for the big lover in your family.

Note: These display cases are definitely not airtight — you can quite visibly see a gap between base and lid. From my (considerable) experience you will need to insert a mothball in each to prevent insects from getting into your specimens. I strongly recommend looking for airtight boxes instead. These are nicely finished wooden display cases suitable for a variety of insect specimens. Besides not being airtight, the biggest issue I found is that they each only include two very thin sheets of flexible foam that won’t readily support a pinned insect. One of the sheets is somewhat corrugated, and I think it’s actually supposed to press the specimen against the glass and hold it in place somewhat like a Riker mount. You can certainly cut Styrofoam or other material to fit for a more standard pinning box. However, I would suggest that you look for boxes that are airtight and include standard foam bottoms instead.
