The size of the pick is small. It's actually like the picture.

They are made of brass steel and wood. The colors of the wood are 2 shades and match the picture pretty closely. The are extremely pointy which is the point. when the cap is screwed on there is no rattle when shaking. Build quality is nice and they feel sturdy in the hand 10/10

This pair of ice picks is absolutely lovely and so very well crafted. The two piece set is crafted out of polished wood and each pick actually looks like a well made writing pen. It's not until you unscrew the top that you realize that there is a stainless steel honed and tapered pick underneath.With the screw-on and screw-off handle there is zero chance that you could accidentally stab yourself or injure your hand with the pick. Although in a pinch, this ice pick would serve you well if you were unexpectedly attacked by someone with nefarious purposes in mind -- they would have no idea that the (what looks like) fountain pen is actually a very sharp object.With a pick length of 1.9 inches, you certainly won't be using this to hack away at a large cube of ice. But for picking at ice cubes or smaller pieces of ice, you will get the job done to get ice shavings or shards.This pair of ice picks is an exceptionally good value for such a well crafted product.
